Good Shields

I've decided to play this game using a one-handed weapon so my game isn't a carbon copy of the last one using one of the many great two-handed swords - so I need a good shield! At the moment I am using a shield with an AC of 43 or something - the shadow shield maybe? Anyway I'm looking for something better than that then. Any suggestions?

Are you using light, medium or heavy armour the most?

If light, I have found that the Glass Shield is pretty good.

Yeah, a glass shield will do just fine untill you find something better, like the Daedric towershield, which has, if i'm not mistaken, the highest enchantment rate of all items in the game.

Yep, it's the highest - Until you get a mod to do away with the restrictive EP limits, that is.

If you're after a shield that's really worth its chop, pay a visit to Ibar-Dad. And don't forget to look up...

Yes I have a glass shield but my alleged shadow shield has a better armour class. Is there a daedric shield anywhere in particular or is it just something that a dremora or such would drop randomly?

The shields can be looted from the corpses of Golden Saints. They appear randomly though, so there's no saying where or when you'll find one.

The half-naked guard in the Guard Barracks on the Dren Plantage (between Suran and Pelgariad) has one. You could taunt him into attacking you, or (if you are working for the Morag Tong) you can kill him as part of a Writ, although he isn't the main target.

There's a daedric shield lying around in one of the big houses in dren plantation.

The best shield in the game (Eleidon's Ward, AR 90, magical, Heavy Armor) can be found in Ibar-Dad, west of Urshilaku Camp.
Note: If you haven't been in Ibar-Dad so far then preprare for a big loot (not only the shield).
