We all have done something so thickheaded, so stupid, that it scerwed up our game. badly. I posted this topic so those of us who did stupid thins wouldn't feel so alone in the world. This is my contribution:
One time I was Roleplaying my Cleric, who was level 1 at the time, and was wandering around the Ascadian Isles. I was walking up on a hill when I noticed that it wasn't a hill at all, but a door to a crypt! And so I entered, only to be immediately confronted by 3, count 'em, 3, Vampires. I fought on with my Mace, only to be battered and bloody, with the Vampires still very much alive. And so I ran. I had not saved previous to this, so running was my only choice. I made my first stupid decision. I ran farther Into the crypt, instead of going out. The Hallways seemed endless. I didn't hear anything, so I turned around, looking for any sight of my attackers. I didn't see them. And so I went deeper, hoping to ifnd a shrine were I could rest and heal up. I finally found one, and turned to close the door. Lo and behold, teh vampires were closing in fast. That was when I made stupid decision Numero 2. I used my recently acquired ring of locking on the door. Stopped them readily enough, but I had no lockpicking skills, and no open spells. I was stuck. Forever entombed, and very much alive. Too bad for my cleric, he would have done well in the game. [ 11-24-2005, 08:40 PM: Message edited by: Kyrvias ] |

Well, can't think of a whole lot but I got an example. As made in a previous post, I have a looting problem. I found a smithy shop and found some items I liked. I saved beforehand and began to grab stuff in sight while the smith wasn't paying attention. Eventually got caught and he went to attack me as well did his guard. Well. I went to go reload and accidently pressed the save button. Kind of a crummy perdicament.

When gaming on 'autopilot', all kinds of bedlam mannered madness is possible. I guess for some people, wiping out an entire population in a terminator automaton style, is just one of those possibilities.
![]() Funny little anecdote Kyrvias. Stay awhile, stay forever eh? ![]() For me, one rather silly roleplaying decision I made was to merge my real life attachment to caffeine intense energy drinks like V and Redbull, into my Khajiit Monk, expressed in his fierce addiction to Skooma and Moon Sugar. I was gutted to learn that you couldn't make it in the game. I'd steal it as often as I could and hoard it back to my storage space in Ahnassi's place in Pelgiad. This perilous merging resulted in some extremely late nights, going to bed ocassionally at dawn etc. ![]() Situation wise, I can't think of anything overly stupid at the moment other than the usual bouts of non-thought out tactics when outnumbered. In my early level phase, I experimented with the khajiit unarmed attacks, often charging in gung-ho jumping up down thinking I was so cat like and dextrous) slashing all over the place. Didn't take too many deaths before I realised that wasn't the right idea. ![]() Learing to refine tactics in the game was always good fun, often with lessons well learnt.

I see... Train of carnage, eh?
A really stupid thing I did was when I was playing my Thief character... I had my Dark Brotherhood armor, a Bonemold Longbow with Steel arrows, and an steel longsword. I ran into the daedric ruin, 6 Scamps on my heels. Since I didn't have a magical weapon, I was pretty much screwed. That wsa stupid decision numero uno. My second mistake was running into the shrine while escaping hte scamps. I survived the whole shrine, backstabbing, then using my Amulet of Shadows to become invisible, then backstabbing again. Soon enough the defenders of the shrine fell. Stupid decision #3 I didn't heal up when I finished with the battle. And so I crept to hte shrine, and noticed a few ruby's and emeralds lying, waiting to be stolen. I figured, meh, who would need them. Stupid decision #4. I took them and got attacked my a Dremora Lord. And I ran. It was the only decision I found would work. I ran outside. And got killed by the 6 scamps that were pursuing me. |

Single-handedly taking down about 60 to 80% of the world's population - or at least, all of the major cities. *shrugs* I got bored and I wanted to see how long it would take them to take me down...
