Dren Plantation

Does killing everyone in the Dren Villa affect in any way (i killed the guard with the daedric katana and daedric shield, the apparantly invisible guy with paralasing glass short blade, adn THE OWNER, who gave me a key to his chest with 2 GRAND SOUL GEMS) anyway i saw that there was no bounty placed on my head. Is this a bug?

Yes and no. One of the characters in there is important to the main plot. I'll be as circumspect as i can, but spoilers ahead

One of the people you've killed you are required to kill later on in the main quest (99% sure it's the main quest, but it's been a long time). In theory, and according to other people, it doesn't matter if you do it earlier, but I had problems and couldn't progress past the kill mission in the main quest without cheating my way forward.

Not sure if it was a bug with my version (quite likely, cuz many others had no problem) but from my experience I would reload an earlier save if you can, unless you're desperate for the cash.

No bounty is okay but you have prepared two possible problems in the future. Well, they should not be critical.

1. The boss: Yes, one of the main quests will want you to speak with him. But you can complete the quest by killing him as well. Therefore, killing him now should not prevent you from completing this quest.
Note also that the boss is one of the Hlaalu bosses. If you are a member of Hlaalu then you could have additional problems. I don't know, I haven't played House of Hlaalu.

2. Both the boss and the brothers in the basement: If you are a member of Morag Tong then you will lose reputation. The brothers are the object of a writ and the boss is the object of a grandmaster writ. When it comes to these writs, you will be asked why you have killed them without command and said that Morag Tong isn't a bunch of assassins (well, then what is it ). -10 to your rep with Morag Tong in both cases.
But that's all. You can get your rep back by doing next quests a bribing.

Recommendation: Keep the save before cleansing the manor for safety and continue the game.

So it's ok if i kill the guy with the daedric katana and shield, and i shouldn'd kill the boss (Dren); there is a guy outside on a balony that has a daedric lonsword, but other guys outside attack me as well (no imperial guards however); can i do it? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

eh, screw killing everybody, the loot isnt worth it. reload and let everyone live until you get the quests for hortator or morag tong to go and get into the basement, get the letter, and go talk to dren about his shady business (here you will have to kill everyone in the basement, but no one else seems to notice or care).

if you want good loot, go to the vaults of the great houses in vivec and rob the hell out of em. they'll add up to nearly a million dollars in loot (i left alot of stuff behind actually, i have no use for selling 5000 septim and less items anymore).

that way you get cheap loot and good money, while leaving the dren plantation alive.

i robed telvani vaults. Are the other houses vaults as rich as Telvani ones?

i think the house redoran has significantly more, as it actually has TWO vaults.

did you reload so that the plantation is still alive?

Damn it, I've already done a total sweep of the house some 20-25 levels ago.

sucks to be you bozos, you could always use the console to put the players back into the game, but i dont know if it stores a journal entry or not...
