I have yet to load Morrowind and I was wondering if the add-on Tribunal changes the game play in any way. In other words, if I loaded Tribunal right after I loaded Morrowind would I miss out on some interesting game play if I had just loaded Morrowind? When should one load Tribunal? I don't want to wind up like many unfortunant people who loaded Tales of the Sword Coast for BG1 after they finished the main storyline. If you remember, once you finished BG1 you could not playe Tales. That add-on had to be played and finished before the main storyline of BG1 was completed. Thanks.

Nothing changes: Tribunal has a completely separate quest tree you can follow at any time. Enemies and NPCs are leveled on your char, which means you will encounter the same difficulties with a 5th level or 50th level char (unless you bother some big fixed-level NPCs you should leave alone).
The only real difference is that loading tribunal right away you can get a great light armor set and a good weapon early at the game start, and it will help you a lot. There are easy-to-reach great items in Morrowind as well, but you must thoroughly know the world of Vvardenfell to get them, and I guess it's not your case.

Yes you can play the tribunal quest any time you like (provided you are tough enough). Also when you've finished the morrowind main quest, the game doesn't end. You can play on as long as you like, so it's not like you have to get it done before you finish morrowind.
I actually installed Tribunal yesterday, after I finished the main quest (because I wanted to go through unpatched if possible) and I would say that it is better to install it sooner rather than later. My journal was chock full of quests and it took a LONG time to parse quests when I loaded my morrowind game - about 40 minutes. So if you install it straight away then you'll bypass all that annoyance. I read two magazines while I waited ![]()

So you can access Tribunal at any time, but it makes some important changes in the way the game handles the quests? What exactly gets changed, and what impact does this have on gameplay, loading times, etc?
Thanks! Greystone |

The biggest change AFAIK is the journal. Now you can access your active quests which are shown in a list (though it's a little off, some in my list are ones I've completed properly) instead of everything listed alphabetically with cryptic names. Which is reason enough to make the change sooner rather than later! There are quests in my list that I forgot I ever had because of the jumble in my journal!
![]() As far as other things go, it is no slower, if anything I find it a bit smoother (though I've only played with Tribunal twice, so that may have happened anyway). I'm not sure what changes the tribunal patch makes to things like levelling up though. There are a couple of other helpful additions as well like being able to make notes on your map and hire a mercenary or pack animal (unclear how helpful these last two are though ![]()

well, if you just want the changes that tribunal does to your game without wanting to do tribunal quest yet. you can install it but when you start the game, go to Data Files and unclick Tribunal.esm.
if you think you are ready to do Tribunal quest. click Tribunal.esm again. |

TRibunal is a vivec sized city only available through teleports.
Its made for around level 15 characters, which is not that advanced really depending on how you built your character. What it adds is a random assasin when youre sleeping. Kill him and you get expensive light armor which might unbalance early games. Then you talk about it to the guards and you find out who sent the assasin and how to get there. I would go ahead and add it right away, or if youre waiting the assasin is about a lvl 6 creature. It adds some new monsters all of which are in the new city, and a more standard fantasy quest about going in dungeons retreiving some items and killing an evil god thing. |
