Okay, so like many starting players, I have the set of dark brotherhood armor. It's nice, but I majored in medium armor, being a spellsword, i wanted some maneuverability yet decent armor. So I am trying slowly, to replace it with medium (adamantium) armor.. Until what happened below..
Anyhow.. I found an ebony cuirass tonight and I am wondering what the hell I do with it. It's heavy armor, and my skill is only 9, and I've said that I don't want to go with heavy armor. It's worth 35k gold and most vendors will give me around 20k with normal personaility ratings. No vendor I've seen has over 2000 gold on them.. So what do I do with this armor?? I'd love to sell it and buy some adamantium armor, I am already working on a set based on paid duties and loot selling... Is there any place to sell this expensive stuff? Is it so rare that I'd be a fool not to wear it and switch to powering up heavy armor? Should I power up ALL armor types just for this purpose (being able to wear anything). I like to RP my characters, so I don't generally go with "the best skill because the best item uses that skill".. For example, I woulnd't go long sword just because Excalibur was the best weapon in the game. I want to wear medium armor, yeah i know daedric is probably best and it's heavy (I've played Arena/Daggerfall). Any suggestions would be appreciated.. The manuals doesn't really go into the armor ratings. The rating on DB armor is in the 30's, yet medium adamantium armor is 18. I'm guessing this number changes based on your skill level? Thanks in advance. |

1. Go to Creeper in Caldera at Gnorak manor. find the scamp named Creeper.he has 5000 gold and buys and sells at cost. So, you have to the Barter system. sell him a bunch of stuff worth less than 5000. do this over a couple of days time. (rest 24 hours) then trade him your expensive item for the cheaper stuff. then sell him the cheap stuff back again.
2. Or try downloading a rich creeper mod, that will solve the problem, you won't have to barter anymmore. OR , I can give you my own version of Rich Creeper mod, this creeper got $1,000,000. your choice of course. if you have made up your mind at start of game to use medium armor, stick with that plan. the armor rating of the armor depends on your respective armor skill, the higher it is the higher your armor rating is. |

...and there are good medium armor pieces around. Daedric is definitely the best as you suspected, though.

The creeper thing seems to be the fairest, that is within the game's design, although it seems a lot like standing in one place and jumping for 10 hours just to raise athletics skill, when I could just modify the stat to save me time, or get the Creeper mod to save time as well.
I don't like to mod games in general, but in this case, i think not having an NPC with enough cash to buy truly valuable things is a little unrealistic. I wouldn't even mind travelling to some oddball remote location just to sell exotic stuff if I would get paid good prices for it, which is what they should have done. I think there are some mods with these types of NPCs in them too. Ah, well, I'll try the trader thing just to follow the rules for now. I just wondered what people did with things that were valuable like this. It seems like a cheap way to make a lot of cash, BUT the guy I killed for this wasn't a cakewalk either and he took me a number of tries. Thanks for the tips.. |
