to the game and man is it addictive.

Sorry if this has been covered before but I got a few questions that I can’t find in the user’s guide.

I’d like to play this game as a Wizard but then I would also like to be able to use a bow. If I select an archer as my main character I can’t dual class as a wizard. Just a cleric, Right?

If I choose a human fighter with about 4+’s next to long bow proficiency to start with and then try to dual class right after the first scene The dual class button is grayed out. Can’t convert. Am I doing something wrong?

I can multiclass fighter/Mage as an elf but I can only get 2+’s next to long bow proficiency. Is this the best way for me to go?

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

BAH.

Make sure you have the right stats - to dual class you must have 15 in the prime requisite stat of your first class (in this case strength as you're a fighter), and 17 in the prime requisite stat of the class you're dualling to (I assume mage, therefore you need at least 17 intelligence).

No, I probably didn’t have high enough stats for the fighter.

If my strength is to low can I boost it by some kind of magical means ? Will it let me dual class with it then?

If you really want to have a mage that can become grandmaster in Bow, I could send you a file that would allow mages to become grandsmaster in bow.

There are some strenght enhancing items in the game, but they will raise your strenght only temporarly. This won't help you for dualclassing, however. The only things which raise stats permanently are tomes, but they cannot be found in BG2, only in BG1.
