Hey guys!

I've been swimming and such , cough, cough, and I haven't had anytime to use some soul gems. I know its kind of lax on my part but hey..

My axe is already glowing with electricity but I may want to re-charge it someday. Or something else..what to do... anybody?

Bad dog!

correct me if I am wrong,

the "re-charging" means add more effect and change effect on a enchanted item right? since the actual number of charges comes back as you rest. (display under the item's info)

Anyway, there are 2 ways to use the gem:

1. go to a NPC enchanter, select enchant under his/her dialog menu. Then just folow the menu. This has 100% success rate but usually cost a lot if you want some decent effects.

2. do it yourself. Smple equip the soul gem (select form your inventory and drop on your avatar to the left). The same menu for enchantment will pop up (identical to the one uf you talk to NPC enchanter).

both case you need to select the effect(s), type of casting, what gem to use (default to the gem you equiped if you are doign it yourself) and the dmg/duration/area of the effect.

that's all I think

I am sure an axe -Dwarven Battle Axe- only takes 5 charges anyway. Thanks Himura! I get out of hand sometimes.

I am going back in, so I won't know if your wrong until later. But I will check back tommorrow to see if anyone else has something for us. Hang in there you guys!

Hey V! If anyone wants "Bad dog" or "Conan's average day" it is available upon request. PM me with your e-mail and I promise to send it!

I am still at a loss with this soul gem thing. Do I have to absorb a dying moster's soul to get these things to work?
I was going through the procedures to charge a simple long blade up with some force, not to much, and at the end of the motions of it all it said the soul gem was not charged..? I have many minors and one major gem. I haven't read anything about them in books or talked about them with any NPC's. Nothing...

Viewing the amount of power one can charge up an item is unbeleiveable. I'm not out for a god weapon but I am tired of getting my ass whipped by the forces against me! Can anyone spoil me here?

You need to cast Soul Trap on a baddies (a non human baddie) and then kill them within the time limit. As they die, you'll get a little message at the bottom saying you've trapped a soul.

oops, I forgot to mentioned that you need to use a Soul gem already have soul in it. You can buy those from enchanters (expensive) or do it yourself.

as Case00 said, if you want to make a trapped soul gem yourself, first you need at least 1 empty soul gem (you need better/larger ones for higher level enemy) pick a monster, cast trap soul spell on it, then kill it within the time limit, then you will have the soul trapped in the gem in your inventory.

Whew! Thanks Case00 and Himura!

I thought I was dis- conbobulating the way you equip them somehow. I am looking forward to charging them myself in the future for sure! I will touch base back here in this thread to let you know what I trapped and the effects the soul gem ratio to enchantment I end up with.

Everyone, feel welcome to post your soul trapping gem-ratios here if you want. Im sure alot of people playing this game would be intrested on how difficult it is to trap a soul and what level and characters give you in your enchantments. Does the undead have anything to pull into a gem..we will find out! Good travels!

i've yet to find unbalanced stuff in the world, but with 10K gold or high enchant skill you can get yourself a uber weapon. A ebony brodsword does about 1-30 damage. Add to this 35-40 cold damage and you're in business. I'm a Norse, i could kill every cold based monster with a toothpick, so the few resistant monsters are not a threat so far.
Add constant resist magic (or absorb magic) to the clothes you wear under your armor and you're a one man army.

MW is not a tough game, although i still find more challenge in it than in DS. Looks like the game industry makes every game easier and easier so everyone and their four year old daughters can play.
