Rain of destruction

I'm starting a new story playing and anyone can write. Just don;t include cliches or whatever(don;t make your person too powerful) and stuff. I'm still now sure if i can just start my one but i'm doing it anyway.

Okay the story is Faerun is falling into a state of chaos. Drow rampage the Sword Coast, while Orcs maruade the North. And the Undead, led by the Death Knight, Taarkan, are destroying anything in their path. Its up to the "Order of
the Sunbringers" to save the world, or die trying.

You can be anyone u want from the classes in BGII AD&D rules, so it;ll be cool. There'll be three Lords as leaders, i'll be one of them, the High Mage Merlin, and the first two to post can be the others. Okay the story begins in the heart of the battle in the Sword Coast. Oh yeah the first 10 to post commands the others. Okay? i myself don;t know my sure footing but i'm not going to delete all this writing for nothing!

Merlin stares down at the ruined town and turns away to weep bitter tears, all the while cursing those blasted Drow. Before he could command his troops to move on, a horn blasts from the distance. It doesn;t take an expert to know that the horn was a announcement of Drows. Positioning your troops u get ready for the oncoming onslaught.

I'll check back in three hours to see if something happens, like people joining and the webmaster kicking me.

As Merlin was preparing to cast a spell, a tall and handsome stranger with long, black hair approached, dressed in robes such as were worn by a race of men from the Far East known as the Sam-murai. A great katana could be seen slung on his back. Merlin wondered how he could have missed this man -- and whether he was well-meaning or hostile...

"Greetings, strangers," said the man with a mild smile and a fist cupped in the other hand. "I'm Chiao Fung. You all seem troubled. Is something the matter?"

(ooc> Chiao Fung is a neutral good character. His katana's powers are as follows:

~ can fly at enormous speed (let's say the speed of sound ).

~ semi-sentient -- can act on its own to help wielder e.g. attack an assassin who's sneaking up on wielder.

~ glows with a strong light that can illuminate up to 30 feet (and can be turned off).

~ can sense danger and warn wielder.

~ +8 to hit/damage.

~ can be remote-controlled by wielder's mind, so wielder can will it to fly to an enemy and attack.

~ turn to giant size once a day; then it becomes +20 to hit/damage. Lasts say 5 minutes. Remote-control still applies.

~ can create two copies of itself once a day, each of which will have all the same powers. Lasts 5 minutes.

In addition, Chiao Fung knows how to cast heal serious wounds and shield at fairly high levels.

Any problem? Come on, say no... )

K T Ong put his time and effort into making a post in your behalf so that you would have a successful game running, and you dumped him and forsaked it all, as though it were a joke.

mmm, there is one problem Larry Merlin said no super powerful characters...

and K T Ong's sword is well... over powered to say the least. semi sentient (most) has will of their own, and can act against wilder's benefit

lets say his character with this sword met the most powerful demon price. Since the sword is controled by will, so it is likely that the character act the same time with the demon. since the sword can alert its wielder, the demon will be unlikely to catch the character by surprise. and we are talking abt THE most powerful demon prince here.

the character commands the sword to copy itself, and then change all of them to giant size. so, they all do +20/+20. and the character let all three swords fly, that is +60/+60 each time. supposely the sword itself does +1d8 dmg, 3d8 for giant size, and 9d8 for tripled, thats 9d8 + 60. and if the character attacks 4 times per round at least (cause he is obviously a high level fighter), lets forget abt strength modifier, feats and other crap, all three swords will do combined toll of

4 X (9d8 +60) = 384 dmg averagely

thats just one round. in abt 3 rounds' time, any average demon prince is packed and wasted. does that not disgust you?

If you're prepared to start over (no need to start a new thread for that), so am I. And yes -- I'm prepared to 'cut down' on the power of the sword as well.

Sure glad all the misunderstandings are cleared up, BTW. I honestly wouldn't feel good coming here otherwise.

I would love to see the game started back again.
You guys have fun, and I am sure others will join the thread once they see that it has started. Sometimes, a newcomer needs to be tested before a regular visitor will put his energies into contributing to the game that he is running.
