Ok, I've gotten and completed the toad quest but when I go back to Shinwicki? he does not acknowledge my quest completion or give me the spear and gold. What's up with that? Also, toads are hostile towards me. Why? Oh and to all I too cannot climb down stairs...

did you kill any toad warriors on your trip to the rune pole?? If so no biggy you just get a magical spear from the toad. Otherwise reload a earlier game.
