Me (Paladin) Minsc Jaihera Imoen NPC (my created conjurer) NPC (my created skald) this saves all the multi player hassles |

Hmm, is it just me, or does your party consists of seven characters.
Anyway, I know how to make all the characters yourself in single player, so I dont need to know. see ya! |

I also discovered the method mentioned by robo donkey, but I'm always looking for new ways to tweak BG2.

Aww, you guys spoil all my best ideas )
Yes that is what i found. Here is it in full for anyone who wants to know S P O I L E R . . . . . . . . . . . This may seem long winded, but it really only takes a few minutes, the time is spent creating the NPC !! You can do this at ANY point during your single player game. 1-Follow the command prompt C:/Programmes/BlackIsle/BG2 (or what ever is your designated path to your bg2 directory) 2-Locate the folder named "save" 3-Open this folder and highlight your latest saved game (you can start bg2 and save at the first possible moment in Iranicus' dungeon if u want, but you do need to have a saved game in the single player mode) It will have a load of numbers in front of it followed by the save name 4- Copy this folder (COPY DO NOT CUT!!) 5- close this window and open the file marked "mpsave" 6- open mpsave and right click your mouse button. Select paste option 7- begin a multi-player game (usually using serial when it asks for your game type) >connect>create game>load game 8- you will be able now to load your single player save in the multiplayer game (dont worry, its safe) 9-check all the Tick icons to assign control of all your party to yourself 10- begin the session(start the game) 11- Click on your main character, select "Reform Party" 12- Remove an NPC if u wish to make room for the one you are about to create 13- click the multiplayer icon on the left hand side menu (its the one that isnt normally there during single play) 14- select "modify party" then "create" 15- create your NPC the same way you did your main character (whatever you want its up to you, i wanted a good aligned mage) 16- when this is done, click the tick icon next to your new character to assign him to your control 17- You now return to the game, and will see your new NPC in your party, same as in any multiplayer game.... now here is the trick!!!! 18- Save your game (give it a specific name i use "NPC is entering my single player mode" so i will recognise it) 19- Quit the game back to your desktop 20- Open the BG2 directory again (where we started) 21- Open the "mpsave" folder 22- locate your save game folder ("NPC is entering my single player mode" for me!) and right click the mouse, select COPY (NOT CUT!!) and left click 23- close mpsave and open "save" folder (where we started) 24- right click the mouse and select PASTE 25- close the BG2 directory, start the game in single player, and VOILA!!!! you get a customised NPC to call your own with out all the multiplayer crap 26- you can make virtually unlimited NPC's this way, simply import or export them from your game 27- DO NOT CHEAT!!! This is NOT a cheat, it is a way to customise your game play and equalise out the race/alignment inequalities in the NPC range supplied 28- Enjoy the game, that what its there for, good hunting!
