Will the golems in the second floor ever get frozen again so you can get into the other containors?

So you want the other little goodies locked in the pillars eh??

here is a little spoiler for you

Kill the 4 small golems one by one (the others shoudnt react if you attack one of them)

then cast haste on yourself.........run in and brab the bow and the axe and run like hell out the door ..........the big metallic golem cant go through the door.......

so now you have a cool bow and one hell of a axe

Nope...once you activate them, they stay active. I've always used the strategy of casting a haste spell or using a potion of speed on one of my characters, and putting the rest by the exit to the level. Take the hasted guy, and using carefully timed pauses, grab the loot and run!

I've also heard that people have had good results with using thieves to lay traps around the golems when they are blue.

I've used different strategies to get the goodies in that area. These have been successful for me:

1) Summon a nice, large group of creatures, preferrably including an elemental or two, and have them attack the lesser golems one by one. After that's done, have them surround the largest golem, while you wear the boots of speed, and grab the items.

2) Place three characters next to the locations where all three items are hidden. Summon a creature or two. Place them next to the exit. Grab the items, and run like mad, then block the entrance with your summoned creatures. While they're fighting, get the entire party as quickly away as possible.

3) If you've gone through the Underdark before handling most of the chapter two quests, you may want to take on the golems directly, yourself. Assuming this is so, I recommend buying the staff that has a good chance of destroying golems. It's available in the drow city.

Have fun.

Is there an easier way of doing all that?

Herre is afairly easy tactic have your party placed outside of the door have one of your party walk in and attack one golem at a time after each attack run back to the rest of your party so they can kill it do this over and over until all are dead haste is very helpful for this tactic

The golems attack two at a time. You can empty one container, kill the two , golems, empty anothe, etc. Also, improved invisibility, if you don't want to fight them at all.

Erm, I didn't really use a tactic when i fought them. I just fought them one by one, saved each time I killed one. That way I could figure out which weapons can hit them. Oh, and I was at a low level too. Second chapter, and only done the slaves quest before. I didn't take much damage either. So I'm kind of proud of myself.
