I'm collecting ALOT of potions and this seems to be one of the reasons why my inventory is full. I use them sparingly but try not to during a normal fight. I use the INT potions mostly when I need to scribe over my limit. STR and potions of master thievery are used seldomly also. Then there is the occassional usage of the health potions.

I still have "gobs" =) of potions that I don't want to sell since they may prove useful during my random roamings. I just want to know if there are any potion bags that can be found not too far into the game? Still into chapter two and read about some bag of holding???... not going after it yet nor do I know where it is - not lookin for a spoiler on it either btw.

I am more interested in a "potion" bag and if not, then I may check out trying to create one and putting the bag on some dragon or hard to fight monster that is still in the game. I know it would be cheating but this I can live with since it wouldn't be giving me the one up on some npc or anything like that.

And I'm not suggesting I am immediately going to put that bag in my inventory. Would be cool to know it already exists before I add it and see if I can randomize what tough npc will hold it for me til I whack em silly. Is there a way to randomize what npc will be holding this bag? I'd consider this to be part of some dragon loot.

Again, just need info if there is a bag like that in the game and if it will be available in the early chapters. And if not, then any help on randomly placing one created is welcomed.

Thanks.

ToB introduced Potion Bags. You can buy one from a cleric/store outside of Watcher's Keep. There are many places to buy them in ToB proper.

And you can keep multiple potion containers around, too. You'll also find a missile container that will store plenty of arrows, bolts and stones, in WK.

Thanks guys for the info. Don't have TOB yet. Not even sure if I want to drag my girl with me down to BestBuy just for the add-ons of getting an exp pack- just for a potion bag heh.

And if I do get the exp pack, would my current leveling and story be affected in any way? I want the goods but don't wanna get too far ahead of myself here. Plus it puts me in a moral dilemma and financial one too I'ma miss ALOT of BigMac meals and possible sixpacks....hrm. Well I can always eat paint chips as long as I have the sixpack. J/K ( I live in Houston and well um, with Enron, Compaq, and a few other businesses not having the best of times, just say I've been having to watch my budget for a while alrdy)

May just have to wait to enjoy the add-ons from having TOB at a later time. But for anyone out there, humor me and tell me all that I'm missing out on from not having TOB. I may be pursuaded....

Ooooooooh yes. The experience limit allows you to reach level 50 with ToB added on. Spells go to level 9 (actually 10, but they're figured in as level 9 spells). Many professions get special abilities--for example, Thieves can select an ability to use literally any item they wish (even those that are, say, mage- or cleric-specific). The story is far more linear, but there are some very nice challenges, and some surprising reappearances hearkening back to BG1. You'll also find a new NPC party member with special abilities of his own.

Definitely one of the best add-on's I've ever seen, and well worth the money.

Actually, if you are beginning to accumulate lots of potions (especially healing ones), either sell them for extra cash or use them instead of spells. The reason is, you do not get access to potion bags until ToB, and you can only take items into the next game that your party is carrying on them (you cannot go back to Amn in the expansion, so anything you leave there is lost). So start using those healing potions instead of spells, and strength potions for even mediocre fights!

Hi PeeWee!

There are several reasons to go get ToB now. Most revolve around Watcher's Keep, which you can visit any time during your adventures on the mainland. Watcher's Keep has a store outside where you can buy a sweet +4 short sword, +4 crossbow of unlimited flaming bolts and, of course, the stylish and convenient Potion Sack.

Inside the keep even better treasures await... do you want details?
