i have full install of bg2 and just completed this-i found towards the end the chapters where getting slightly bizarre-putting wrong quests into wrong chapters e.g just before spellhold when i arrive in town if i speak to the captain on the ship who sailed me to the town-the cut scene starts again and chapter goes to 5 instead of 4...anyway im rambling-in tob i have a full install-however certain things are happening like i cannot speak to all npcs-states there busy-however if i enter room or inn again they speak to me-strange things like this....if u can understand my ramblings pls help-its getting on my nerves

this sounds suspiciosly like the infamous global variable bug from TotSC, except its not cos that dosent affect BG2. except it does when your savegame gets corrupted. it probably would take to long just to restart to see if it happens again, but i dont see any other way around it. the only thing i got ever remotley like this was a bug with the gith battle, where i manageed to get 2 silver blades.
