K, I've checked my report on my rogue and it says 1 attack per round so far when my melee weapon is selected. Then it goes to two attacks per round when my bow or boomerang dagger is selected.

LVL 12 bounty hunter wanting to see when he could best use the boomerang dagger.(have tuegen bow and alrdy know it's 3 per round with that one)

Stats on boomerang dagger is thaco+2, 2d4+2 speed 1. prof type =dagger.

ALl I know is that a round is 6 seconds. Speed goes from 1- 10 so 1/10 is 1/10 of 6 seconds.

I've read that bows and missile weapons have a ROF(rate of fire) of 2 per round and throwing daggers can be more. I've also read that as you increase levels, your attacks per round may increase too. Does that include missile attacks from the bounty hunter?

And when one does level up enough to get an increase in attack per round, can someone explain to me what happens? How is speed checked? And when does this happen- at what level? Does it deal with melee AND ranged items?

Any ideas are welcomed.

Thanks,

Only Warriors benefit from the bonus attack(s) per round.

Warriors get an additional attack at level 7 and 13.

Weapon proficiencies also grant additional attacks, but only for Warrior classes.

Thieves will never get bonuses to their attack(s) per round.

So a Thief will always have a base 1 attack per round, 2 if dual-wielding. Daggers and Bows give 2 attacks per round. Darts give 3 attacks per round.

Oh, and speed factor just dictates who strikes first. It does not affect your attack(s) per round.

Hm, I don't know, if the speed factors are handled like in 2nd ed. AD&D PnP, but there the rules are as follows:

Every round of combat every char rolls a d10. This is his initiave. To this value you add your weapons speed factor and deduct for your initiative modifier derived from your dex score. Then the result is your overall initiave (spellcasters add their casting time of the spell to this number). Now the order during the combat round is just that the char with the lowest number is striking first, then the second lowest number etc...

Thus, the higher the speed factor of your weapon the later you strike in the round.
