My party tore through the twisted rune, made mincemeat of the dragons, And now one frigging Lich is killing my character over and over. Y'all said he was hard and tough but pleeeaassseee! That just BS. I keep seeing "near death" when I hold my cursor over him and then he turns into a skull and I get the hand movie.

Once Again I would like to say BULLSH!T!!

The programers need an @sskicking

Relax matey, there are many tactics to employ here. Firstly, when he becomes demi-lich form, he has 2 main attacks. The Demi-Lich howl and imprisionment. Counteract the first using a deathward spell on your tank, and the second can be avoided by a number of ways. If you have a berserker or Minsc, then enrage (barbarian rage does not work however). Otherwise, employ your mage with spell immunity in abjuration (your best bet), or spell trap (which will absorb about 3 imprisionments before you're boned). You can only hit him with +4 and above weapons, and use improve haste to double your attacks. Ring of the Ram does damage him too (and if you pick pocketed Tolgerias in the government district then you will have 2 of them!) so you can take a good 15-20 damage of his HP then (think he has 50 in this form). Demi-Liches have 100% magic resistance and 90% resistance to all forms of physical damage so you need to hit him hard and fast. Hope this helps.

Err, ok, I'm alittle bit confused. Are you complaining about how EASY kangaxx was to beat? or how HARD? at first it sounds like you're asking for help, but then it sounds like you're complaining how easy he was.... just trying to clear this up.... ^_^;;

get squished

by the Demi-Lich

All you gotta do is either turn into the Slayer and kill him or summon a bunch of creatures for him to death spell/imprison then have a bunch of freedom scrolls to free your NPC's when they get killed.

Or just pickpocket him and improson him

Actually, you need a +4 or greater weapon (Crom Faeyr, Carsomyr, The Wave, several weapons in the underdark, or the flaming sword from the druid grove (+4 v.s. undead)) and a protection from undead scroll (or protection from magic if you are more paranoid). Give both to your best fighter, have the rest of your party out of sight (by the door), open the tomb, and read the scroll. The protection from undead scroll makes him ignore you; the protection from magic scroll make you immune to all his spells/special abilities. Just whack him until he drops (both times).

Dang dude relax! You know I have always thought liches were the ultimate monster in D&D damn near unkillable (now on paper they may not be but from a roleplaying perspective no dm should put a lich in a position to be killed in a straight up fight. liches are too cunning for that). Anyhow Kangaxx turns into a demi lich which really is one of the nastiest monsters in all of d&d even on paper.
That being said I found kangaxx to be one of the easiest quest type fights once the proper strategy was used. You just need to approach the battle from a different way since it seems you are not having any luck with your current strategy.
