Identify Help

hey,
the only mage in my group is edwin, and for some reason he can't learn identify. he only knows 7 level 1 spells, and i know he has like 9 or 10 level 3, so i don't think it's because he can't learn any more in that level. he can't even use the scroll to identify with for some reason. how can i get edwin to learn identify? also, if i don't have a mage at all or something, is there a place i can go to get things identified? thanx for the help. peace.

First off, welcome!

Second: what does it say exactly wheny he tries to learn and fails?

Third: You can identify stuff at the temple.

Heh, my character is a level 20 blade, and I have a Lore now around 110-120. I usually can just pick stuff up and know exactly what it is. Man, I'll miss that if I ever switch characters if I play a new game.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is because Divination, which the school of magic for Identify, is the opposition school of Conjurers, which Edwin is. So Edwin can't learn Divination spells.

You should be able to identify in any shop or temple and also in any inn that has a shop section. Also, if you give an item to the character with the highest lore and right click on the item they can sometimes identify automatically.

There are some identifying glasses that allow you to identify 3 times a day. Talk to that guy in Gaelyn Bayle's home. The dude that sells stuff he has them.
