backstab with bows?

hypothetical situation:
im an assassin with a bow. is it possible to backstab with that bow? i didnt think it was, but ive been reading some threads and i think it may be possible. and i cant try it on my own. stupid work

You can backstab with any weapon a pure thief can use normally.

Shrug. Backstabbing with bows is pretty good, I suppose, but I prefer to backstab normally. A friend of mine got 140 damage once ona critical hit... Death... But yes, you can backstab with short bows.

Just a correction - you can backstab with any bladed weapon that a thief can use. That means longswords, short swords, daggers, katanas, etc. but not clubs and the like. And ranged weapons are also out.

I think, if you want to really annoying, daggers and shortswords should be the only weapons you can backstab with. Afterall, it is called backstab, not backhack...

A rogue can sneak attack with any weapon that she is proficient in, (it could be any weapon she can wield) of course, this is irrelevant information.

Sneak attack is a 3rd Ed feat, not 2nd edition, so it is irrelevant, sorry!
