Which way should I choose to get in the asylum? With the ward stone or being admitted? What's the difference between the two and which one do you recommend?

being admitted gets a guided tour but not much else. Getting the wardstone gets a fight with a wizard, Exp and the book of endless spells.

LET THIS PLACE BE A TAPESTRY UPON WHICH I SHALL PAINT NEW SCENES, AND BLOOD AND ASH SHALL BE MY PIGMENTS. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT I CHERISH, AND THEY SHALL DOMINATE THIS PLACE, AS THEY DO WHEREVER THE HEARTS OF MEN ARE WEAK AND QUICK TO DESIRE." |

My cheat book for the game recommends that you take the Ward Stone option. Most of the people that I know that took the Admittance path say that it is easier to get there, without having to fight for the stone, but I personally would rather do the siege method. I followed the book's advise.

< < < < < < < < < < < < < < In the dream sequence in the asylum is there any way not to lose points (wisdom, intel, const, dexterity)? Also is there any armor that Imoen can wear w/o having her wizard spells disabled? |

Armour-wise... ...
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mages can wear Elven Chainmail. ![]() But wouldn't you rather have robes instead? ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------ If not a Sorcerer, then a Paladin. ![]() [This message has been edited by Dundee Slaytern (edited 06-14-2001).] |

Thanks. What robe would you suggest and does anybody know anything about the dream in the asylum?

No, there is no way to avoid losing a stat point.
And as for the initial question, I always go and kill the mage to get the book of spells, and then I have myself admitted through the Pirate Captain. If you have been admitted and didn't kill the wizard, you can do so later when you return from the Asylum. ------------------ Melusine, High Queen of Fluffies, Archbabe of the Order of the Holy Flame and the Laughing Hyenas, & Official Entertainer Elf of the BG2 Bar ![]() Your voice is ambrosia |

' ' ' ' ' In the dream sequence I sacrificed my charisma because the ring of human influence you get in the circus in wakeen's promenade has an automatic 18 charisma when you wear it ( I took it off before the dream sequence started ).i also recommend the robe of whatever your alignment is. ( robe of good archmagi, neutral, and evil). |

if you have the bonus Merchants, the Robe of Vecna is probably the best robe in the game.
