Elhan goes hostile -- please help!...SPOILERS

Okay, I have the Lanthorn to return to Elhan. When I get there, stupid Dermin is waiting to have the FINAL confrontation with Jaheira (love interest for my skald). They have their talk and he goes hostile, so we kill him. Then the other harpers with him attack. At this point, we are trying to defend ourselves and Elhan and the other elves go hostile and start helping Dermin's buddies. I don't get it.

I thought, maybe if I spend more time before getting here then I would meet him in the city or the Forest of Tethyr, but those 4 days meant nothing and he was there again. Short of dumping my skald's true love, how do I meet Dermin someplace else, or keep the elves from going hostile when I am fighting them??

Sorry this is so long, but I wanted the whole set of facts for you.

holy cow. al, i havent got that far into the game... but u have a major war going on cuz of your woman... heh heh

Yeah, I know. And this is the farthest I have ever gotten in the game and I am really eager to see how this romance turns out, but if I have to dump her to go on, I guess I will have to. I am more eager to defeat Irenicus -- but I would like to do both.

Any ideas out there?

Try killing them out of sight of the elves.

I tried that, but the elves came running to aid them. I may try it again though -- REALLY far away -- "run" and lead them to the upper entrance where I came in.

hey al, have u tried to use the cheat for the debug mode in your baldur.ini file. if u have notepad, u can go into your baldur.ini file and put in the space below program options. type debug mode=1 and then save it. if u have the offical perfect guide for the game thats even better cuz it will tell u how to do the codes in which u can highlight a enemy to kill them instantly but with no experience from it.. if u have the guide look for the cheats in the back... that might help

If you have a high enough rep they leave you go I think so just raise it with shadowkeeper and when they piss off again lower it

Try all the maps from the last chapter, and resting in them. That's when the guy appeared for me.

It depends,if you want to finish your romance go invisible and
cast imprisoment on Dermin. You then talk to Elhan go to
you know where and then go back to the camp and cast freedom,
he should start talking to you. If you do not want to finish
the romance just talk to Elhan first chance you get, dont
fight Dermin. The only other way i think you can kill Dermin
without Elhan attacking you is using the wand of cloudkill on him.
If you know what area he is the cloud should hit him and kill him.
His lacky's will just stand there watching the grass grow. Make
sure you use it where he cant see you.
