off topic
but I'm writing a paper about the net and all that rot, and one bit has to do with MUDs, the only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how they are accessed. Is it through the web or seperate applications like mIRC? Thanks for any help.

ok, you can ignore this, I figured it out eventually. An hour of netsearching didn't help so I posted here, luckily the next hour paid off.
