I'm a Robert E. Howard Fan, creator of Conan the real Conan not the movie version that the young whippersnappers know."There's nothing in the world that cold steel can't cut", or "if it can touch me I can touch it" (Conan the Babarian). This is a little story/strategy on killing Firkaag ( hense forth called Fartdog by me, Kaleb) My char. 12lvl fighter (pure straight fighter) 12 lvl., Minsc 11 lvl., Ja-Hotty 11/11 lvl., Vava -Vicky 12 lvl., Aer-babe 11 lvl., Nallie 11 lvl. My char.( dragonslyer LS), Minsc (FOA),Ja ( +3 Club), Vic (+2 hammer, +1 Elect dam.), Aer ( staff of Rymn), Nal (bow of turgn? bow that doesn't need arrows). Minsc, Ja, Vic, & I 1)potion of power, then potion of frost giant strength( yea I Know Vic had to settle for potion of strength).
Aer casts remove fear, Nal cast haste, Vic casts defense harmony, Ja summon fire element, All clerics & druids cast protect for from fire on party. Aer then cast improved invis on herself and Nal. Nal moves southeast of old Fartdog, Aer northwest of the red cockroach, both have his scaly hide in view. Aer & Nal cast lower Magic resist on Fartdog , Fire Element is then sent to attack (a glorious death) Ja cast summun insects they start to do their buggy thing,Minsc cast doom. My char & vic head in Minsc & Ja in a two round reserve. Aer & Nal cast second set of lower magic resist. (Fartdog's Magic resist is now at 6%) My char. & Vic start wailling on his head, Minsc & Ja come in and start their wailling. Important keep NPC spread out to min. dragon breath effect. Aer & Nal start Laying down magic missle fire (gotta love that casting time) between the two of them M.M. avg. 18 hp per pop each, 36 hp for both castings they are both loaded with M.M. Any of the close combat. that get their HP. knocked down to approx 1/3 of total they bug out for a dose of Xhealing potion or 3, then return to fight just in time for next close combat. to bug out for some TLC. repeat on til Fartdog is dead. Aer & Nal keep up M.M. until out , Aer switches to acid arrow, Nal switches her bow of tugin ( never ending arrow bow +3 gotta love it) Fartdog is pushing up daisies , we got his goodies and nobody died. Note You have to keep a finger on the space/pause for quick response, & when any of the close combats move out get out of Fartdog's view or you're toast. Other close combats will have to move around to block Fartdog or he'll concentrate on the hurt char. Attack, Move, Strike, Evade, Adapt, Overcome.
Sorry for the length ,Mages, Clerics, Druids, Thieves, And other classes, It a Fighter thing to feel the sword strike cleve flesh and scale. Then return victorious with blood of your fallen foe spatered all over your armor.
