I finished IWD last month. Really liked it and am waiting for HoW. Different from BG, very linear, but I liked it. Hope you enjoy!

Woo hoo - beat the game, baby! Game over, Jonny Boy, go play with your newfound friends
Thanks to all in this forum who answered my questions and saved me a lot of grief! I really appreciate it. Tonight I'm installing IWD, so you'll soon see me in the IWD forum, asking even more questions Lillie |

Congrats! I remember the joyous feeling of seeing that last hit turn the slayer into green goo, but there was also a feel of emptyness, as now the game was finished.
But I see you are already up for a new one, go get 'em! |

I don't wish to spoil anything but you will likely find IWD a little on the easy side after playing BG2. |

Thanks again all -
I admire those that decide to play BG2 over and over again - it's just that, for me, the game is so bloody HUGE, now that I've finished it, I want to try something new! I understand about the different NPCs and quests/plotlines, but it seems the major storyline remains the same (as it should), and I'm looking forward to a new story. |

I don't suppose that IWD or HOW allow you to import your characters from BGII do they?

Ice Wind Dale will not let you import from Baldur's gate. It feels more like the expansion TOTSC, especially Durlag's Tower. The main difference is you create a party of 6 and no NPCs can join. I enjoyed it, but BG2 is much better. I missed the side quests and NPCs plus it is very linear. However, you can play multiplayer without feeling you are missing out on some storylines. Heart of Winter, the IWD expansion pack, is out soon and uses a lot of AD&D 3rd edition rules and ads lots of BG2 features. Looks promising.
