illithium core . . . where can i get some??

would somebody please tell me where i can find some illithium?

Try to do the sculptor quest given by Temple of Helm, you will find some illithium along the process. This quest will ONLY be given to you once you have finished the Unseen Eye Quest (which is also given by Temple of Helm).

no you can still get the illithuium quest without doing the unseeing eye quest. just talk to the other guy in the temple of helm and he will give it to you.

But everytime I talk to the Helm priest (who is suppose to give you the Sculptor quest) before completing the Unseen Eye, he tells me that I will be summoned when I am needed? Does this have something to do with my alignment then (never played as neutral)? Or is it a time triggered quest (i.e. certain time passed in the game the quest will be triggered)?

i had both way happen to me, I think you have to have a high reputation to the quest, probably 12 or above.

I've never been able to get the Sir Sarles quest without completing the Unseeing Eye beforehand.

I think you have to have the unseeing eye quest assigned to you, before you can talk to the other priest. I just finished the Illithium Quest without finishing the eye quest and after that i got the next temple quest.

After you got the Quest and spoke to the Artist, he will point you to a Ore trader at Waukeens promenade. She will tell you that 200 pounds are immpossible to get. So you have two choices. Get a substitute(never worked for me) or talk to the source. After paying 1000 Gold she will point you to a Duergar dwarf in the Copper Coronet. He will tell you that all his Illithium shipment has been stolen by another dwarf called Neb, who is located in the Bridge district.
The house is albeled as derelict house in the NW corner of the Bridge district.
Neb is a child killer from BG1. Little tip for the battle have someone purge invisibility ready, because Neb will have some invinsibility potions ready. Make sure to kill him first, because the child spirits he will summon can level drain you, and when you kill Neb first they will cast lesser restoration after slain. Do get some money and a better reputation bring Neb's head to the Cop in the government building.
