I don't know if this is some wierd bug or something but my monk can were armor.
in case this in not some wierd bug and you monks out ther want to have some armor too here is how you do it. when you go down into the sewers for the unseeing eye quest you find a palidan named Keldorn. he will ask you what you are doing down there and if you piss him off with your answer he will attack you. kill him and take his armor. I have only tried this once so I hope it works for you too. p.s. ac of -7 because of that |

Are you Bocaj again, or is someone else using your old name?
I've never tried, but I have been told that monks can wear Keldorns armour. They can also use some scrolls and carry arrows and bolts in their quiver even though they can't fire them!
