Has anyone finished ch. 4 with a paladin? If so, do you lose paladin status when you turn into the slayer?

I ran a Paladin the first time through, and I did fall, but I wasn't really paying that much attention to my main character, I was too busy checking out all the cool stuff that happens. I will say this, the Slayer is answering the call of the evil in your soul, and it could very well cost you your Paladin status. They follow that lawful good alignment really close. But don't start using it all the time, or you will fall, if you haven't already.
