Viciona. She may be evil, but with the party you have, no fights will break out. Just give her a girdle of strength of somethin and she'll be very good. But really, you just might be able to have both.... But first, take jan, you'll need him for dark and deep areas (literally)

It's not an easy question to answer, especially if you change your party again when encountering other potential members. Every party member has their strengths and weaknesses. But given the choice, I'd suggest Jan, because he's more varied than Viconia, and you've already got a reasonably good cleric. Jan is a fine thief and a decent mage, while his blaster bolts (which no one else can duplicate) will actually stun even the worst opponents after you lower their magical resistance. In one of my run-throughs, Jan actually stunned the large demon in the Planar Sphere quest. Even if you don't know what that is yet, trust me: it was damned impressive.
![]() They also make an interesting combo in parties together. And finally, bear in mind that party members of very different alignments tend not to see eye-to-eye. |

Hmm, you could use a priest, so Viconia.
But if you choose her, you must keep your rep under 19, or she will leave your party. You already have a good thief, Yoshi, and you are a mage yourself, so Jan is not necessary. see ya! |

Sir Exxon, okkid already has 2 half-priests (i.e. Jahiera and Aerie). Heck, okkid already has a good thief and 1.5 mages. Rather than either Jan or Viconia, I'd suggest that (s)he needs to get a good tank. I'd suggest getting Keldorn, since (a) his PC is LG, (b) Inquisitor Paladin's are awesome (love their special abilities), and (c) as a paladin, he'll be able to wield the Holy Avenger.

quote: Um, yes, but.... There will be a need of Jan's talents a little later! But maybe wait til then to pick him up? In the meantime, a tank like Keldorn would come in very handy. As Magness said, you don't really need Viconia, even though she IS the only single-class healer in the game. Just a footnote: if you ever play with your main character as a Priest, I suggest you take along a bard-type you will find called Haer'Dalis... He develops useful mage skills and is nicer than Edwin who is a single-class mage but evil. [ 01-05-2002: Message edited by: Fljotsdale ]

quote: You are completely correct, Magness, but I just thought that Vic would be better to have then Jan. Actually, okkid has 3 half-priests, cause Minsc has access to some few spells. Hmm, now I suddenly thinks that Jan would be the better choice. And I totally agree with you about that it would be better to choose Keldorn. He is a very good tanker, and has good abilities. see ya! |
