Hi everyone

I've been trying various resolutions and setups to try to fix a strange display problem I have with Wizardry 8. The title screen comes up tiled in a faint 4x4 grid, the lines whilst not overly crippling, became very noticable whilst I was creating my party. They seem to appear in game aswell. I'm hoping someone knows or has experienced something similar.

I'm running Win XP, Pentium Celeron 1.2ghz with a Radeon 9200 SE PCI card.
I'm trying to troubleshoot with the ATI hydravision and have tried lowering OpenGL setting to balanced and all of the in game options. However, the screen still has this strange tile effect...perhaps going back to directx 7 in setup will be my next option.

Checking out the official VN boards aswell, but in the meantime, perhaps a more proficient PC tech knowledgable with the game might be able to assist!

Cheers,
CD

Try switching the anti alias and/or anisotropic filteing setting to off or application controlled.

I get evenly spaced black lines in everything but the 3D-Area when I have anti alias enabled.

Tried both those options without success, but eventually got it to work smoothly by rolling back my previous ATI driver and reverting to DirectX 7 in the setup as opposed to using OpenGL. It's not too much of a hassle, I'm just glad the black tile lines are gone.

Cheers,
CD
