W4st's Transparent Compasses mod

I would like to highlight this great little mod to everyone. It very simply makes the Radar and Formation panels transparent so that you can see through them. The mod makes no alterations to any game files, it merely unpacks some graphic files, and so will be compatible with all other mods (assuming they don't modify the compasses either). There's a screenshot included in the file to that shows what the effect looks like.

Note, the mod is made for using with the "Wide Screen" display option (character portraits minimised, text box transparent but rader and party formation panels showing), the graphics go screwy if you use the "Closed Screen" (character portraits always showing) because Wiz8 figures it can "skip" processing the 3D display for the part of the screen where the radar and formation panels would otherwise be coving up (see page 21 of the game manual for display view types).

I've tested it with both Flamestryke's and Deathstalker's mods and integrated without a problem.

Thanks, it will be worth a try. I want full screen view. I want radar and formation, but it would be nice to see through them and still have them functional. Z

i tried this and it is awesome.
it even highlights the area you are facing for those with no sense of direction
