i know! i know!
it's not w8, but it IS dw bradley...

anyone played it yet? i'm looking forward to testing it out. from the interview, it seems that it could be a fun rpg. character customization seems good, altho it has been a while since i've played 3rd person. i'm anxious to finish downloading and actually try it.

be warned! for me, gamespot's download stalled at 1% for over an hour, so i flew to gamershell for a copy.

gamershell DL download
pc gameworld DL download

I can't download it due to limited traffic but I heard this demo is extremly buggy.

I hope they fix it until release. There are already enough buggy games...

sorry you can't download it... it's available at most of the gaming sites, so try googling for another link.

anyway, i haven't run into any bugs other than one that lets you kinda explore other areas that you shouldn't normally find in the demo. *winks* try backflipping up a low spot in the surrounding mountains.

for someone like me who loves to build characters and see how they do, i'm having a blast! even in the demo, you can build a nice variety of chars, with one restriction. they are all male.

looks like there's all kinds of magic too. learning thru spellbooks, casting runes with a certain amount of casts each, and building your own thru bits of pieces of animals and stuff you find as you go. good options there.

and while the full complement of races isn't included, i'm enjoying my lastest build: an urgoth monk. the moves he can do are just great to watch. he tumbles in all directions, does roundhouses, jumps and slams bats outta the sky above him, and lots more. there's a lot of the good old skool console rpg feel to it. mainly because there's so many options for fighting, all easily executed, without any feel that's it's dumbed down. add to that the overall fun of the wizardry games and i'm looking forward to the game's release a LOT more than i was before.

I meant a traffic limit on my side.I get a warning after 1.5 GB/month and a 300 MB download would mean a whole 20% on the 3rd of 30 days.
I'll try it at the end of this month.

Your descriptions sounds fun although I'm a bit sceptical because it sounds more like an action game. Can you pause the action?

aww, i'm sorry!
the only way to pause the action is to open your inventory.
it's definitely NOT like wizardry in that respect, it's more morrowind ~ an rpg/action blend, which i didn't think i'd like much at all. but playing it has made me rethink that attitude.

anyway, i'm not looking for another wizardry, cuz i've already got that. but there is a lot of wizardry in it. i guess it just runs in DWB's blood.

the first similarity i can see to wizardry are some asian character classes

there are aparently 33 different classes. sort of like wizardry where after a certain amount of levels in one class you can start another class.

only one character at a time though definitely. It has similarities to wizards and warriors though except not a party of 4 or 6

Technically, DW Bradley was with Bane of the Cosmic Lord and Crusaders of the Dark Savant (Wiz 6, and 7). His name really isn't mentioned in Wiz8, he left Sirtech by then I believe.
