I've played one 2 player game with the new mod and finished on normal at level 23. The beginning was a little tough but it was fun. Now I am soloing for the first time and it is great. I took my first level as fighter for hit points and second as thief for stealth. I built stealth to 90, didn't have enough patients to do the other 10 and then took a level of mage and alchemist. Now I am a level 1 bishop at level 5 and just took out gregor. It is going to take a while for spell progression but it seems to be worth it. Staff is now at 40 so I can at least have a fall back when my spell points wear thin. He is a human. I played on easy to do the stealth training because it was too frustrating on normal, but now am switching to normal and am going to upper monistary. I have to say it is an entirely different game as a solo player and very fun. We will see if I can make it to arnika alive.

You`d better change the difficulty to expert when you reach Arnika or the game will be too easy. Or try solo Faerie Bishop (singleclass). This is fun.

That's what I am thinking. With two player after level 12 it became a walk in the park on normal. How does a solo faerie bishop survive to level 3?

It mainly becomes that easy because you do stealth training. I did in one game, and the game got boring very fast. Try without next time.

Stealth training is a pain anyway.

Its worth trying Solo games without class changing (profession changing). So no Stealth for Bishops.
Takes on a whole new challenge! |

It`s easy if you play on novice. I haven`t tried on harder levels. Remeber that if you play Faerie you get +2 AC and Faerie stick, which is quite effective in Monastery. Defeating Gregor using "hit and run" tactic also wasn`t so hard (Faerie Dust helped a lot). You just have to remember to stop leveling up after 5th lvl till Arnika. Road to Arnika was pretty tough. I think the best tactic is:"RUN, FOREST, RUN". I changed the difficulty to normal after 15 lvl and to hard after 25. But now, after I`ve finished the game I think it would be easier if I haven`t played as Faerie (very few armors and weapons). Also it would be easier if I haven`t forgotten about Staff of Doom - I used Ebony Staff for about 80 % of the game (including Rapax Castle). But playing solo Bishop is fun and gives a lot of satisfaction.

I tried only one single player, it was some fun but mostly a challenge. Had a female faerie ninja, switched her to bishop for awhile and back to ninja. There were a few hairy moments when I felt I was trapped and there was no way out without getting killed. I learned to avoid those situations. Alot of running in the beginning, as Raziel says.
My current lev 12 "Faerie-tale" party is also a fun one: "Froda" Hobbit Rogue (6) --> Bard "Glenda" Elf Valkerie "Cataput" Faerie Mage (11) --> Alchemist All female. Looking for that one Mr. Right...to kill. [ 02-16-2005, 05:59 PM: Message edited by: Ziggurat ]

Solos in the new MOD are great. I've run 6 different ones on MOD 2 and i'm ready to install MOD 4 now. My fave solo on MOD 2 is Rogue, dualling Swords; second place goes to a Bishop who had a Ninja level for Dual, Crit, and Stealth. (Dual mostly for throwing--she used a Priest stick and a Philo shield for close)

Throwing in the new mod is great. I just finished a two player and did more carnage with thrown weopons with my Ninja and Lord than anything else. The dagger from the raiders and the chakran or something like that from the Don are pretty deadly.
