I know it says april 20th and its the 21st. It was intended to be released yesterday but i was busy.
******************World News Section **************Rattkin Bough is now officially a Province *****************(Part One of Two) It’s official. After 2 months of debating, from races around the world, including a Rapax Ambassador, the Rattkin are now officially recognized as an independent province. Chief Gari, now local chieftain/leader of Trynton, announced the decision alongside Razuka leader Don Barlone. After Chief Gari’s speech, both leaders shook paws, followed by a loud applause from Rattkin and Trynnie alike. Plans to fight for freedom on the Rattkin Bough began two months ago, when the Rattkin were sick of constant Trynnie raids. Instead of giving into Trynnie demands (give up the bough and the Rattkin can leave Trynton peacefully), Razuka leader Don Barlone sent an emissary to meet with Chief Gari. What transpired during that meeting is unknown to the public, but shortly after, Trynnie fighting deceased. A board of representatives was soon established, consisting of a major diplomat from each nation on Dominus. Rodan Lewarx and Drazic T’rang represented the Umpani and T’rang factions, as well as the Umpani-T’rang alliance. Higardi spokesman Lord Braffit also joined the board. Surprisingly, the Rapax cooperated with the requests and sent a local but influential smith named Ferro Rapax. RFS-81 attended too, now administrator of the declining STC (Savant Trooper Conglomerate). The fact that a robot attended, who was also part of the Dark Savant’s empire spurred controversy among the world. Because of this, meetings were postponed a week due to discussions about the Robot. But ultimately, RFS was allowed. What occurred during these meetings is completely unknown to the public. Reporters for various papers were allowed to attend, but were not allowed to release information to the public. Umpani Outpost Times reporter Pvt. Sampson was able to record each session, and all the information is now being stored in the EWAXX security system. What the people have learned however is that the Rattkin has some commitments to the Trynnie that they must obey, or else they are denied the privilege of being recognized as an independent nation. They are:
The answer was simple but negotiations were tedious. The future expanded territory would be a nation where Trynnies and Rattkin lived peacefully. But to get to the new conglomerate nation, you would have to pass through Rattkin Territory. Obviously, this caused many problems. There still hasn’t been a final solution to this problem, however future negotiations between Rattkin and Trynnie officials will resume in two weeks. *Part two will be released in the second edition. ******************Local News Section **************LIFT FAILURE REVEALS UNKNOWN REMAINS *********************Mt. Gigas (UOT) The crushed remains of yet another fairly recently recruited scout team were found after Maintenance opened Lift Shaft 2 to clear what they expected to be a rockfall causing the lift to fail. The remains were compacted beyond recognition in the accident, which went unnoticed for almost 3 hours, according to the Security Log. This is the tenth such incident since opening recruitment to aliens. Training is considering the need to include information on lift safety in Orientation. "We're just losing too many of them. They're supposed to be from technological societies, but there seems to be some hang-up here," responded Sgt. Balbrak, who had been waiting for the STF's to come to the Training Area. Umpani Outpost Times ******************Incredible rescue mission On how a group of random adventurers rescued a damsel in distress Arnika Our newspaper has learned that a kidnapping event has been resolved in our city. What makes this news strange is that we did not even know it had started. We asked Anna a local merchant to comment on what she had seen: "I was just in my shop when I heard sounds of a great battle. Along with many of this city's citizens I ran to where the sounds were coming from. It was the ruins, you know where the ship crashed not long ago. From that there ruined house sounds of a struggle could be heard. Amongst the mechanical screeches of the savant's dreaded androids I could hear some voices, although not all were human. The battle raged on for some time, when suddenly with a final thud an android broken into two came flying out of the door. A few seconds later a big furry Rawulf followed it, and then to my surprise out came Vi. Sorry I mean Vitalia. You wouldn't know her; she left a few years ago. The militiamen who had gathered around the area immediately escorted the whole group to safety away from the area." Our correspondent was later allowed to interview nearly everyone involved in this affair. The members of the group who had saved Vitalia were rather uninformative, only from fragments of conversations were we able to piece together that they had done it for money. Vitalia herself was unavailable for interview as the priests were comforting her; however a representative of the priests, Braffit told us that she wanted to go to He'li's bar. In the next edition we shall update you on whether we managed to interview her there. This part came just before printing of the newspaper. Our correspondent on the scene managed to get hold of a certain Myles, the man behind this whole thing. He told our newspaper that he was the one who had contracted the group for rescuing Vitalia. He had been waiting several days on the outskirts of the city until this group had turned up. Check in for more in our next issue. ****************************Tabloids ************Zoologists baffled by land octopus A strange creature has been sighted on ascension peak. It is extremely aggressive, so hard to observe. Help has been asked from the Trynnies who have agreed on lending Madras's telescope for research purposes. The only survivor from a group of adventurers who had confronted this creature at first had to be put under solitary confinement as he was under the effect of some maddening spell. Later he told scientists that the creature they had encountered had several tentacles. "If what this man says is true it could be the scientific breakthrough of our century, as octopus type creatures have never been seen before on land." ***************Major Pickle Bust off of “Rattkin Bough” *******************3 arrested The Rattkin Mafia has been wounded severely with this latest crime bust that occurred two days ago and was announced publicly yesterday. “Today is a great day for the Trynnie People.” Announced Chief Gari, head constable of the Trynnie Police. The speech was followed with great applause, in the Trynton Monastery. The crime was “pickling” as the Trynnie people call it. The recently deceased (and assassinated) Trynnie were taken by Rattkin thieves, brought up to the newly established “Rattkin Bough”, and then underwent the “pickling process” which essentially means cutting the meatiest parts of the Trynnie body (thighs, ribs),“de-furring” them, salting them, and then canning them. From that point on, they were sold to Rapax merchants for an absurd price. “It’s an awful thing to do, a horrendous crime against Trynanity. Thank the Shaman I didn’t get caught.” Responded one Trynton citizen. No names were released to the public, but one group claimed responsibility. “Mr. Barlone intends to get to the bottom of this, no matter the cost. It is a grievous and most unfortunate event to happen, and Mr. Barlone says that he will not tolerate any murder while he remains ‘Boss of the Bough’” After this release, several Trynnie citizens are making their voices heard. “I do not believe this Mr. Barlone at all. We tried to rid the rats out of the bough once, and for good reason. Look at what has happened.” Commented one citizen. “They are a virus. First they infect a small portion of the Trynton population. Then they slowly kill off the rest. Even worse, they associate themselves with the horrid Rapax.” Exclaimed another. As mentioned earlier, Trynton Police are not releasing the names of the Rattkin who were captured. However, the police have said that they do belong to the infamous mob group known as the Razuka, which now stands as the local government for the established Rattkin Bough. After this event, it will not be much longer until the Trynnies take action and decide to regain control over the controversial bough. A local Trynnie merchant, Fuzzfas, commented on the situation. “I think it’s an awful thing to happen mind you. Trynton needs the Rattkin believe it or not. We are getting more and more foreign visitors, who bring foreign goods and money. Plus, trading deals with the Rattkin are extremely high. But after this event, the Rattkin Bough might not make it through the spring…” ‘Pickling’ was by far one of the most extreme decisions made by the Razuka. While a lucrative business, they may have just lost all future dealings with the Rapax and other buyers. It just goes to show how addicted to money this alien really is. “Mark my word, if we ever suspect the Rattkin of committing heinous crimes like this, they will not live to see another day!” Were Chief Gari’s last words on this bust. |
