Introduction (A few questions)

Hello, I just want to introduce myself to the forum. I've had the game for a while, I remember going through a lot of trouble to get it after the PCGamer demo hooked me on it. I've played part-way through it many times, but this time I've gotten the farthest. Though, I'm not THAT far in the game...I have the Astral Dominae from off'ing the Don (and Berserkers/Rattkins have started picking fights with me on the road), I just started the Umpani missions although I haven't gone to Marten's Bluff yet, but I've met Bela.

My group is: Fpr Sam16, Hum Rgr16, Hum Brd17, Rwf Clr16, Gnm Alc16, Hum Mag16.

W8 is the best RPG I've ever played, and if there was a W9 I would buy it blindly without a second thought. [img]smile.gif[/img]

A few questions though:

1) I saw a list of musical instruments online, and there's a LOT of them, and I'm wondering if I missed any because I only have 9 so far. Is there somewhere a list of where to find them all?

2) Do gadgets always cast at level 1 or is it random based on skill like Bard instruments?

3) About Bela...what's with him/her/it? No one seems to want to talk about it, and it wants me to get into the Savant's tower but it seems like there's no way in, at least last I checked. I'm getting the feeling that it's severely got its own agenda.

4) Is there really a way to play both sides, Umpani and T'rang, and then have them end their war?

Any help is appreciated, but if the answers are MAJOR spoilers, I understand if people don't want to give them. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I think Flamestryke's site gives the locations of all instruments (as well as gadget parts). I believe the URL is:

Yes, you can work both sides and get the Umpani/T'Rang alliance. It just requires a bit of care not to be caught at it. The T'Rang especially seem to find out after awhile.

Gadgets and bard instruments cast at random levels; the higher the char level and the higher the skill (engineering/music), the better results. However, there is no guarantee of what you'll get at any time.

When you get to the Rapax castle, you'll find a way into the Savant's tower.

i'm doing the Rapax castle now. and all it's extras. (tower and the away camp) which u'll probs have to do anyway.
Not as hard as i thought it would be... But Ferro (?) did in fact die in battel (not by me)

I did indeed load up a save game and tryed another way of doing it with out getting him killed..lol

Heh. If you go directly as possible to the Templar quest, Ferro is much more likely to be alive when you get to him.

lol bit late.. i killed almost everything int he castle before going to the temple,, lol (well kinda, the creatures do return)

I'm just trying to track down how to get inside the dark tower.

I have played the game alittle bit 'wrong' as i sided with the Trang and did all them quests i can't get the two tribes to join lol. Drazac is now an hostile towards my party.. I havn't seen Zant for a while maybe i should tell him where Drazac is? Oh and i did the temple, i just ran in all guns blazing and it was easy. of cousre the protection spells are needed but i didn't really need any other spells.. (Death cloud) LOL..
