I've finished the game, I've tried not to miss a single piece.
Asked everyone about Away Camp, but got nothing. Where (or what) is the trick? Any help will be appreciated.. |

Here's my personal method of handling the away camp, if you're this far it shouldn't be a spoiler.
First, make sure you're a rapax templar, also be certain you've explored as much of the rapax castle as you wish to. Taking care of the bomb in arnika isn't a bad idea either, as it can only be reached from the rapax upper castle. If I have RFS-81 with me, I leave him at the T'rang teleporter for easy pickup later. I walk in, snatch all the treasure chests, and set a portal right in front of the king, out of sight of the rapax guards. Go rescue the prisoners, and warp out before you get attacked, you are now Kill On Sight to the rapax. When you're done collecting your nice exp rewards, pick your henchmen back up wherever you left them, then warp back in and kill the king and single guard. You can combat run around the corner to the queen's cave then, and rescue her if you wish. At this point, actually fighting the rapax army is entirely optional, do whatever you like. I get tired of fighting armies of stinky rapax, I'll often avoid them if I can. |

Forgot to note that "Rapax Away Camp" is only the "Wilderness Clearing" unless you have 2 of the 3 major artifacts with your party. And yes, it's on the far eastern side of the Southeast Wilderness, at the end of the trail.

The Away Camp is in the Wilderness Clearing, where you find Rex the friendly Hogar. You may have been there without the doodads. Only when, as Slag said, you carry at least two of the three items, does the camp appear (and it will be gone again if you go back without them).
Also, it is not necessary to kill the King; it makes no difference in the game, regardless of what Rodan says. This may have been another unfinished situation in Wiz 8. You can simply recruit the two prisoners and portal away from the camp entirely. It is usually best to visit the Umpani General first. |
