I have never bothered buying the ring of invisibility, but a friend of mine bought it and then complained that it ran out of charges. Now from what I can remember from my AD&D days, these rings aren't meant to have charges. Did they 'tweak' this item to make it less powerful? And how many charges does it actually have?

When I bought The Ring of Invisibillity, it seemed like an ideal toy fot my thief. I used it once, backstabbed and when I tried to use it again (after a while) It was gone. I thought I accidently sold it (I do this a lot f.e. with the Cloack of Balduran and the boots of speed). I spawned one (hey, I did pay for it !!! ) and it does have only one charage. Damn.

BTW, I just thought of this, Maybe it was because its because if you spawn something it only has one charge.

You could use this Semi-Cheat : Buy it (so you did pay for it), get rid of the thing and then spawn it with like 9999999999 charges, maybe it will help.

I dont know anymore. Maybe Im just some old fashioned AD&Der but I think that there is far two much cheating going on in Baldurs Gate.Dungeons and Dragons wasnt created to be cheated. It was created to allow people to be able to assume the role of another characher in another realm and maybe even develop a bond with that character.Cheating prevents that bond from growing.Anyway as I said before maybe Im just old fashioned.

The Ring sucks big time in BG. You pay like 14,000 gp for it, and it only has about 15-20 charges. You're better of using the invisibility-spell for Mages (or Stealth for that matter): they don't wear out...

I dont cheat at all, because if you pay for a game, you should not spoil it for yourself by making some super-warior. Creating a good character trough out the game is one of the nicest parts of a CRPG. I only cheat when I made a stupid mistake (like accidently selling the cloack of balduran or dropping the boots of speed in some sector). I dont think this is cheating, because I did earn it in the way it should be, and went trough a lot of trouble for it.

Stealth is a great mass killer thing, if you're expierienced in using it. some people never ever used hide in shadows in whole the game. if you backstab with a backstab x4 score and with the short sword of backstabing, you can do as much or more damage as a L10
warior.
