I just got the Umpani quest to destroy the T'rang teleporter and all of a sudden Z'ant knows I'm a double agent. Now that I have Yamir's gadget is it too late to go for the T/U alliance? I tried killing Kunar and turning him in to Balbrak but that didn't work.
Also, my faerie ninja sucks. She has good stats but my ranger gets more criticals then her. Not only is it hard to find throwing ammor for her the COC is overrated as well. |

if you have not yet destroyed the nest ship, go get the two prisoners and go see Yamir first, then go to Z'ant, and regardless of former treachery, he'll be OK again.
It's work to develop a Ninja, and even more for a Faerie... |

Here's my faerie ninja's stats:
Ranged:70 Dual:78 Critical Strike: 108 Throwing: 77 I'm almost near the end of the game (I think) how much better does she have to be? |

What about staff/wand? If she's using the CoC, she needs a good score in staff skill, too.

Firstly, to help avoid being exposed as a double agent you need to talk to He'Li back at Arnika and bribe her to stay silent. It doesn't always work though. However even if Z'ant knows you can get around the problem by initiating conversation by dropping a quest item on him instead of talking to him. Make sure it's a valid and current quest item in each case. For the alliance make sure you've got the alliance offer from the Umpani and drop it onto Z'ant.
For your faerie ninja, what are your stats like? It's no good having a high critical skill if the primary statistics for it (senses and speed?) are too low. |

You don't have to bother with He'Li. Just stay away from her; bribery isn't necessary. I suspect the passage of time has a lot to do with whether or not you get caught by Z'Ant. One game, where I had all spellcasters and we were resting a lot for book buying, he found us out. So I restored to a much earlier save (good thing I had one!), reworked a fair amount, and then skipped buying books until after I got the "find coordinates" quest done. Z'Ant never caught on to us.

I bribed Heli. I discovered that Z'ant knew when I went to deliver the coordinates for the Black ship. I'm not sure how I can drop that knowledge on him without getting the attack slugs sicced on me.
My faerie ninjas stats are as follows. Str: 54 Int: 60 Pie: 35 Vit: 59 Dex: 84 Speed: 90 Senses: 99 My staff and wands is only 44. I not really concerned with how often she hits though I guess I just thought that when she did the effects would be more dramatic. I'm really more concerned with her extremely rare criticals. Would being overburned have something to do with it? I keep EVERYTHING. I buy Hunter/Fear quarrels and Impact Stones whenever I see them. I have 3 people in the party with triple crossbows so I am always needing ammo. Just so I don't seem to be complaining all the time...my Bard, Bishop and Gadgeteer are coming along nicely...I wish I had made the Gadgeteer female though. Stupid sexist magic items! |

As you've found out, much in this game isn't simple
![]() If your weight loads are any color except white, your party is suffering in combat. Drop (sell) whatever you really don't need. If you can't deliver the coords to Z'Ant, you may be skunked here. All you can try is rescuing the two prisoners, seeing Yamir first, and clicking the agreement on Z'Ant. That may work. Remember not to go into conversation with him; just put the paper on the cursor and click it on Z'Ant. |

The other thing might be your strength. Even though as a ninja you get auto-penetrate (whatever that means), hitting something and hitting something with enough force to kill it are two different things. Try getting a couple of STR ankhs and see if you improve. A third explanation could be the AC or level of the monsters you are fighting. Thankfully, whenever I've faced Rapax Samurais or the like, they've never gotten any (or very very few) criticals on me (playing on Expert). |

I think the auto-penetrate means the armour never stops an attack. AFAIK when an attack does no damage, it's because the enemy's armour/natural damage resistance blocks the attack.
