Here is another item I've never seen before.
Damage: 6-27 To Hit +3 Init: +3 Poison 100% (str7) Cursed Hp Drain -1 Resistance 60% vs Air Skill: Staff, Wand It was in a bedroom chest in Rapax Castle. never heard of it... there are some very cool items in that room. the best i got was the excalibur. the queens room dosnt have anything good (if thats what im thinking of.)

The Coil is a weapon from an earlier Wizardry (6 or 7, I forget which). Aside from being a weapon, it was also used to solve a puzzle in the game. Not bad if you can manage the hp drain.

It was from Wiz 7, opened up the Dragon Cave area leading to the Higardi City in the Sky. If I remember right, it was one of those cursed weapons you couldn't negate except for uncursing as you remove it. At least that is how I thought, it was one of the cursed weapons you did not want to equip for any length of time. You would lose hit points permanently!

Actually it wasn't that bad. All you needed was an item that gave regen +1. That balanced the hp drain of the coil (or any other cursed regen -1 item), and you wouldn't lose anything.
