When i charge enemies, the order of attacking is strange and don't seems to be influenced by iniative.I suspect its just the order the pictures are arranged. Does someone know how the order is determined after charging?

Ironmaster Welcome to the forum.
When you move in combat (walk, run or even canceling move after the round begins) the order of attacks run in this sequence (top left, top right, second left, second right, third left, third right, bottom left, bottom right). Some of your guys may not be able to attack after you move a little (I think it has something to due with their inititive). and of course if you use most or all of the movement bar no one gets to attack that round.

Hi Tinkerman,
thank you for your answer, great forum! Athough i cannot understand the reason why the fighting order is not determined by initiative after charging. i think this should be changed in wizardry 9. I hope it comes!

I believe the reason for this is that the time in the round that movement occurs is based on the party member with the lowest inititive. So party members that have some left over inititive can still attack, but they have basically lost the jump on the enemy.

It is because of this that it is good to put positive spellcasters in the first slots (bless, superman, haste).

This is because Wizardry treats your party as one group. This problem wouldn't occur if you moved your party individually. The engine is already capable of such, as demonstrated when your allies help out.

The initiative of all party members is reduced to the initiative of the slowest one when walking. And then, order by initiative doesn't help anymore.

Unless all party members have very high initiative. I once had a party where most (if not all) members where able to get several attacks (primary and secondary) after a short move. In this case, initiative influenced the order of attacks.
