Phew. Second time through Wiz8 (my first game, after about 100 hours of mapping EVERYTHING, suffered the ill fate of a UE OS Crash!) - I am not at Ascent Peak... man, there are some tough cookies here.

What I am wondering - for those of you who are going through the game with 1, 2 or 4 in their party only - how do ya hope to make it through here? I thought the Sorceres was bad... this is far worse. No rest for the wicked it seems, when yer running around the peak. (Of course, what I do is use one person to Create Portal wherever I am, use the other person to Return Portal to Crock's, rest up, Return Portal back to Peak)

The extra skill boosts and level points you gain from smaller parties more than make up for the fewer attacks.

My 4 fairies [ninja, ranger, bish, bish] were death machines by the time we got there-- the Bishops took out all but 2 of the rapax army in the first round. Far easier time than I had with my 6 man mixed party, even though the group o' six had all the best stuff-- excal, *light*, CoC, etc.

Small parties are only tougher at the very beginning. Once you hit Arnika, they will more than hold their own.

yup. My 4-player party hit the Peak at level 23 or so - all level 7 spells - ninja, sam, lord and monk - all my own characters.

It was a slaughter. Whatever survived the death cloud/death wish/asphyxiation/hex/instant death/quicksand barrage from the first couple rounds was mincemeat in front of c of c, fang, bloodlust and staff of doom...

anti-climactic really
