Templar ? What are they ?

hi.... I'm at the Rapx Rift and previously I read somewhere that I would need to be a templar before exploring this area. What is a Templar and how do I become one ? Appreciate some advice please......thx.

You don't have to be a templar, it just makes things much easier and faster. If you don't become a templar, you are enemy to the rapax for the rest of the game, and you would have to do a lot of fighting. So if you want to become a templar, you goal should be to get into the castle. There you should look for neutral rapax and talk to them.

Either way you choose, your goal should be to get into the castle.

I like to do pop in at the castle, buy stuff from Ferro, then do the away camp before returning to the castle.

That way, if I feel generous, I become a Templar right away, and everyone loves me.

But if I'm hungry for some exp. points, I do the whole castle and pretty much genocide the rapax before doing the templar thing... for some reason, I find the Trynnie charming and the Rapax ['cept for Ferro: Antone is a pain] really unpleasant.

Since I like parties of 4 or less, by the time I make the castle, few rapax can do me much harm.

Oh, BTW: Death Cloud+Hex is SUPER effective against rapax...

To become a templar, you need to

1> buy dark nectar from ferro
2> go to the balcony level of the great hall in Rapax castle, find locked gates, talk to gate keeper
3> follow the instructions you'll receive: DON'T forget to pick up the iniate's badge: lots of people seem to miss it...
4> you will be asked riddles: they are pretty simple. Answering them gets you special equipment.
5> dress your favorite male character in the gear
6> find all sexy's alter and drink the nectar. Giggle over cheesy results...

And before you leave the rift, drop by Al Sedexus' underground temple and waste her: otherwise, one of your characters will suffer after they have left.

Also, some of the gear you get in the process is quite nice: canzou dagger is one of the best 'off hands' in the game, and the other stuff ain't bad for some armor restricted classes.

One hassle with not becoming a Templar right away is that Ferro will take your side in fights. If you're fighting a large group in a narrow hallway, the unengaged Rapax will tend to run around the zone trying to sneak up on you from behind, and if they walk past Ferro's Forge, things will probably go poorly.

Wow ! That was great info. Cant wait to get to Ferro cos I've been waiting to purchase good ammo ever since Antone got killed by my team. Not that i intended to but he just turned hostile the minute i stepped into his shop.

Well, Hey! you don't have to go to Ferro first. It's dangerous because red Rapax mobs may kill him. You can get 2 free Dark Potions from your guide in the Templar area. Once you have the Canezou items, before you go to Her Altar, the other hall leads to your 'sponsor' who'll give you the potions, and wish you luck.
