Well I know that several here did solo and enjoy solo games. I just wounder for the one that did it what are the comments and especially what is the solo class ranking. In other words what is the best class to solo and what is the worst.

PS: By solo I mean a 1 man-team game. No hirelings as well.

My favorite solo has been a Faerie Bishop-Ninja. She was a Ninja for L1, to develop Stealth, Locks&Traps, and fighting skills. Then she hung around Burz as a Bishop to practise Alchemy (cast Light for a few weeks, then mix potions) and Divinity (Charm). She switched a few more times, just to get through various stages; sometimes she needed the Cane, sometimes it was magic-development time. She eventually got all the spells, but she only went total 18 levels as a Bishop, so only Alchemy got really powerful, but having learned all the spells gave her such an astounding Mana pool!
The hardest solo for me was Liz Fighter. I use magic so much, it was hard for me to develop this char. I did make him a Thief to get Stealth, just one level. This took forever to get 100, his int was so low he learned SLOWLY.
Many solo starts that i gave up fairly early as way too hard, including Gad-Bard multiclass (couldn't develop engineering fast enough). Rogue-Mage didn't work either, the skills were too divergent.
I don't think it's possible to make it without carefully planned practising of skills, that's why Bishop is useful, they can build up crazy magic skills. Lately i've been running the Bishop class only as far as 11 before switching permanently; it's the last level with lots of spellbooks, so i consider it a balance point between developing enough mana and getting the fighter-type swings-per-round development going while levels aren't so expensive. I haven't run a solo that way yet, just a 4-member team of Bis-Nin, Bis-Monk, Bis-Ran, and Bis-Sam. Absolutely the best team i've run through thus far.
Any one of those should make it as a solo, but i find much more pleasure in having four that can wade through the finish in one save.

I think the best class (easiest class) to solo is the faerie ninja. I finnished my first game with a solo faerie ninja (no hirelings). It's very difficult in the monastery at first, but once you get to Arnika things get a lot easier, and once you get CoC, you are unstopable.

I learned alot from character-development in this game, because I played the faerie ninja all the way to level 30, normal difficulty. I could see what happened when I raised certain skills, in combination with other etc. I could see what I did wrong.

I did class-change a bit in the beginning of the game. I played Alchemist(lvl 1)/Rouge(lvl 7)/Ninja. The reason why I changed to rouge was because it was alot easier to beat Gregor then. It was kind of unecessary, since I now know that you can just run past him, but I was a newbie, and I didn't know very much then.

Magic was kind of unecessary with this character too, because it has great resistance already and can beat anything with melee, but it was alot easier to play with element-shield once I got it.

The thing that makes it so easy to play with faerie ninja, is that it has great resistance, it has CoC, and it has stealth (which is very powerful). I didn't practice stealth, but it raises pretty quickly anyway, because there are many long fights in the beginning of the game.

Ok, I said enough. It's an easy, fun class. I learned alot of the game by playing a solo faerie ninja.
