I'm about level 14 or so, and I've been using the tripleshot crossbow with my ranger ever since I could, and the doubleshot before that. I thought hey, 3 shots/round...gotta be awesome. One of the best things for my ranger. I very recently moved the tripleshot over to my valk and started with the greenwood bow I bought from Crock before I kilt him. Here's what i've seen. My ranger crits about 3x as often (the greenwood does have a 1%kill with it, but wow). He is usually getting two shots/swing and 2 swings per round, so I'm only losing about 2-3 shots per round, and I so far haven't found very good quarrels as opposed to arrows. I've been using hunter quarrels until I run out, but then i have to use regular ones, and they do puny damage. So I'm actually getting more damage and way more crits with my ranger now that I moved him off the tripleshot. Just an interesting tidbit from the peanut gallery.

i've discovered a preference for weapons that have extra effects like KO, Kill, Hex etc. over weapons with more damage or higher rates of fire.
Also for arrows over bolts, in fact, i like some of the stones better than any of the quarrels. I've noticed, too, that a crit-capable char really gets going when the weapon has any kill on it. (my bunch from W7 all come over with 20 in crit, so even my mages can get one from time to time) |

Where are you at in the game? At Ferro's place I get some Lightning Bolts which are quarrels, and I stole a few Peacemakers (arrows with a super high kill rate) from the guy who runs the Roadhouse at the Umpani Camp. I only got 5 Peacemakers out of him; but those things are AWESOME!

I'm running around doing quests for bugs and rhinos. I haven't been to Ferro yet, though from the sounds of it, I should be excited to get that far. I found a bundle of 4 lightning bolts, and like 5 peacemakers, but haven't found anyone yet worthy to take their wrath. I mean, who cares when all yer fighting is juggies?

My ranger uses the tripleshot crossbow for now, and has the greenwood bow in the secondary slot (great for when you run out of quarrels), but my Ranger gets 9 shots per round, so the extra damage is really helping. I also have Saxx using a Tripleshot as well when he's not playing music.
Side Note. I know Saxx won't go to Marten's Bluff... are there other notable places he won't go?
