I've looked around in the various files and discover that there are *.BIK files in a subdirectory of the DATA directory that can be played. From those files, it appears that there are four possible beginnings. One is virgin (i.e. you start the game fresh). The other three seem to be for when you import a group from Wizardry 7 -- either unaligned, Umpani aligned or T'Rang alignes.

Since I could not find my save games for WIZ 7, I can only start fresh.

What happens on the other three starts?

my poor brain. sure is taking a beating lately.

anyways, i believe when you come in with an imported game, you get bumped up to Level 5 (allowing you to assign all your level ups one after the other) and you start with whomever you're aligned with.

unaligned = arnika
trang = trang
umpani = umpani

i hope i haven't misremembered.

PS: forgot the most important thing. BIK files are playable you know. get the player and watch em yourself. it's free!!

I will vouch for that player. I found it on the last game I played. The game was so buggy that sound would not work at all for me. The only way I could see the various transition movies was to use the RAD player. It worked like a charm

lets see... might that have been Pool of Radiance 2? LOL! only super buggy game i can think of.

i discovered that BIK files are pretty standard in the gaming industry waaay back when i first played Diablo 1 and Starcraft. so, i have been a big supporter of it for a long time, too.
