Hey I'm just playing my second party and it is all very good except of MYLES. He is a good fighter but as a thief he should steal and here is the problem.
LVL 11: DEX 100, SPEED : 84 (with thieves Buckler 94), and pickpocket 37 and that damn guy is not able to steal anything...i can try what i want he always fails or the otger guy remarks it. I need books and i dont want to pay. in my first party he had less DEX and speed and only pickpocket 18 and he stole about 20 books and other nix stuff in 20 some minutes. Please help me..what is wrong ? did i forget something ? but what ? Bye Niob P.S. when you climb down form the rattkin tree you come to that place where you can fall down and loose some hp, not much, or use something, I guess, but i dont know what. a rope i think but where can i find one ?´Becaue i really want to get up to the Rattkin tree without using the whole tree |

If you fell through the floor where the Rapax battle was, or off one of the walkways, you are out of luck. If you took one of the down elevators to a small room with a hole in the floor and a rope, you can climb down it all the way and get back. I guess the rope stays there once you find it? If so, do that and see if the rope is still there when you fall somewhere else. It would be worth it as a time saver. Let us know if you find this to be true! Zig

Yes, if you climb down the rope, it stays there and you can use it to return back up. I have done it many times.

hello
thanks a lot, but i guess, you think about the wrong place. I mean, if you come down the elevator from den Rattkin tree directly, then there is a rope with a whole and after got down that rope you are some meter above the ground and the is no rope but a thing (dont know the english word) where you can fix one, if you press on it --> "nothing happens" you can jump down easily but you can't get up there, because there is no rope, and so i need a rope or s.th. else. Bye Niob P.S. Myles Pickpockt 59 but he refuses to steal all the time... |

If you have patched your game with the latest patch, picking pockets and shoplifting have become just about useless. Thieves do much better in the unpatched game.
As for Myles himself, why not have a rogue of your own? |

quote: Actually, there is a rope there. You have to turn the crank to uncoil it so you can use it to get to the ground and then back up into the tree again. It's a great shortcut if you don't want to have to walk through all of Upper and Lower Trynton just to get to the Rattkin Tree.

There are two ropes to climb in Trynton that are programmed in a different manner from the others. One doesn't respond to the mouse pointer at all; that one you have to practically fall down the hole before you trigger a dialog box asking if you want to use the rope. The one that everyone remembers and is writing about this time starts off rolled up the way a manually operated well bucket's rope was rolled up after you lowered it to be filled.
Again, you have to be fairly close to the edge when you click on the rolled rope. It doesn't work if you click on the short tag end of the rope that is hanging down, juat wait until after the rope unrolls and then click on the rope. It's pretty easy to find that rope hanging down later when you return to Trynton, and a lot more direct route up to the seventh bough for the return. Kiwi

well thanks i just managed it. I always pressed the role too deep and now the rope is there and it's perfect. Many thanks and my problem with Myles is obviously known, many guys complain about that patch that makes it impossible to steal.
Bye Niob |
