Hi all....first post on the boards...but have been a lurker.

I have played Wizardry 8 since its release and have recently came back to it. I had activated the runes (6 of them) in the cemetary before but was uncertain of what it did. I read here that if you put a dagger in the south piller (the one that gives you a hand icon), that it would open a portal outside to go to the rune dungeon. Well....I put a dagger here and it says nothing happens.....am I missing something? Was I not suppose to 'cleanse' the cemetary?

This retro dungeon things sounds pretty cool (I played the original wizardry 1 back in the early 80s as well as the rest since). I think its interesting that someone actually discovered this...../boggle

If you have activated all 6 runes, the pillar in the southeast corner should be "lit up" by a greenish light. Then you can place a dagger in it.

Then go out behind the graveyard to enter the mushroom circle.

I can't be sure about this but I've heard/read somewhere that if you activate all six of the runes of any single dungeon and then leave that map without using the trigger weapon first you completely lose out on getting into that dungeon.

Apparently you can activate some of the runes and then leave that area with no problem, but not all six. Once you've used the trigger weapon it's okay to leave the area -- the mushrooms won't disappear. But it has to be used at that point in order to "save" the dungeon for your later entry.

I activated all runes, left the map for a dagger and when I returned, everything was working fine.
