Of ants and rhinos

Hi.
When choosing who to ally with, the t'rang or the umpani, I chose both. I did all the quests for both races including the last ones. I messed with the t'rang teleporter, and I crashed the umpani ship into the mountain.

"why" you ask? Well,
a) I don't care for either of the npcs you get with the races. The guy you rescue in bayjin is usually 6-7 levels below me by the time I get to him, and the other (found in the mines)is too disgusting to look at.

b) you get tons of exp for the last quests when affilliating with either side.

The result: Well, even though I caused the t'rang vessel to blow up from 'overpopulation'.. they haven't gone hostile on me. I can run around lower martin's bluff, without them attacking me. Granted they're "yellow" now, not green, but they're not attacking me. I've scheduled a get-together on asc.peak with Zant. As far as I've read from the board, he won't show? (at least he didn't the first time I finished the game)

Here's what puzzles me:

The umpani-traitor who gives me the fake pass. Why does he go hostile on me when I break out of the camp? Shouldn't he technically be on MY team (seeing as I've allied with the t'rang)?

Another question:
First time I played through the game, I didn't realize that you could ascend the rocks in the center of bayjin, I just found that out today. My question is: Do the "monuments of rocks" serve a purpose? or are they just 'eyecandy'?

A third question:
what are you supposed to do with the sorceress' heart ? (the sorceress from the temple in the south-east wilderness. I tried giving it to Antone, but he wouldn't take it. I thought he may use it to make a weapon, but alas, that wasn't the case.

4th question: do you know of a website where I can find a list of all the parts Antone need for the different weapons, where to find the monsters, how to kill them in order to get the material (some people said that getting silk from a spider was next to impossible..) All I've managed to get from Antone is crappy armor for small ferries, and I have none.

5th: You can't recruit Balboa (or whatever his name is, the NPC outside Asc.Peak) can you?

6th if you kill Marten and take his destinae dominus, without having the helm of serenity, are you basically screwed, or is there a way out of that perticular mess?

7th: can you fire the missiles on top of mount gigas? One of them says "98% chance to hit, if shields are down, but shields are up" or something.. how do I lower the shield, and how do I fire the missile?

When I started this thread, I just wanted to tell you guys about my experiments with the t'rang/umpani quests, sorry if I had too many questions, but I've been reading alot on these forums, and when I finally decided to register, I had/have so many questions.

1 final question: If you only have female partymembers, what happends when el sexodus wants to have sexual intercourse, in order to reproduce a spawn?

No, they line up with narrow "paths" that run up the hill, and along 1/3 of the top.

Give it to his brother, Ferro in the Rapax Castle.

Just ask him about "Custom work" and he'll tell you all his available receipes, then ask him about each recipe to get the details. As for which monster give what, I'll have to dig that out...

You could do it, just be prepared to have one party member with a constant status of "insane".

According to a posting from L.Currie, you're best recuiting a male NPC for the duration on that part of the quest.

I frequently play "female only" party's and the solution to this is rather simple.

If you have any recruited npc's in your group, just remove them when you go to speak to Al-Sedecus at the alter. Once you remove the npc's equip one of your "female" party members and offer her as the sacrafice & she will accept the female.

Thanks for the replies, (and yes, I am having fun, thank you for asking) .. does anyone wish to comment on my initial issue? Why are the t'rang not hostile towards me even when I blew up their ship, and why was the umpani traitor hostile when he had allied with the t'rang? (I blew up t'rang ship after umpani, so the 2 matters are unrelated, as long as he didn't predict that I would scrap the t'rang ship as well..

)

Regarding the T'rang, my guess is that by blowing up the Umpani ship first, you raised your faction with the T'rang enough so that destroying theirs later didn't drop you down into the red.

Sgt. Rubble in Bayjin: I just bring him back home and then go on to the Sea Caves. As you noticed, he's no big deal. Never took Tantris into my party at all.

Kunar: For all that he's working for the T'rang, he's still an Umpani. Did you ever ask him about "background"? Do that, for a really amazing example of muddy thinking.

As for experience, if you follow through with the alliance instead of blowing up the ships, the total exp award is 1.2 milion per party member. Is the reward for blowing up the indvidual ships as good as that?

Why would you want to kill Marten, when he's ready and willing to hand over the Dominus to you?

It's not ME who killed Marten.. My older brother, when he first played through Wizardry, he didn't know what to say in order to get the destinae dominus from Marten, so he just killed him. He didn't have the helm of serenity, and when his party went omni-insane, he couldn't do anything. He asked me, and I didn't know either. This was a couple of weeks ago, and he's started a new party, but I'd like to know anyway

I _did_ talk to the umpani about the "background".. I guess I should have read it more carefully. I'm from that school of thought that if something is important, it will be noted in my log, and so I never listen to what the NPCs are talking about.

another thing. I've done the quests for the trynnies, and they'r very friendly towards me. But how does that trynnie in the umpani basecamp get the nerve to attack ME? After all; I'm an ally of his species. Is it because he's partly allied with the umpani?

Also.. is it worth doing the secret rune quests when you're lvl 18.. I did the cemetary one, and the gear I got was crap, the exp was insanely low, and I didn't feel I got anything for it. are the two other secret dungeons the same, or do they contain higher lvl monsters and better items?

If the answer is "yes".. please tell me what I have to do in the different aread.. in the northern wilderness (where the entrance to the umpani camp is) I've pressed all the runes, found the rock which needs a special item, but I don't know which item.. I tried a dagger, like in the cemetary, but that didn't work.

Yes, I guess Sparkle (the Trynnie ranger in the base camp) keeps attacking you because she's a member of the IUF...

I just did the mountain wilderness dungeon with my level 18 party, if you have a spellcaster: do it. The other one is in the northern wilderness, I quite liked it, and you also find some nice stuff. No all-to-hard fights, but at least always a a special battle before you can leave, the one in the m.w. is particularly nice... See this pagefor a detailed description how to get into them (you'll have to click your way there due to frames). Hope that helps...

I've been through all the easter egg dungeons, and consider only the mountain wilderness to be really worth doing. The big fight at the end is worth some nice exp, and you get a very nifty amulet, plus a bunch of stuff in the next room (most of which you'll probably sell ; ).

Just so you know about Kunar, he still considers himself to be a loyal Umpani, for all that he's selling out to the T'Rang.

Don't worry about the gold, it doesn't add to your parties weight (thank goodness, my party is up to 1.5 million GP and that's without even trying to save money).
