No.

Certain types of Golems (Adamantium and Stone for example) can only be hit by certain magical weapons (I think +3 or better).

Now you may have a +3 weapon, but the "higher-order" golems are 100% resistant to all but Blunt weapon damage, a little known or published fact for non-AD&D familiar people.

Make sure at least one person in your party has one of the following proficiencies: Flail, Warhammer, Staff.

Early on, you can get weapons in these categories that will be able to hit even the largest golems (i.e. Staff of Rynn from Ribald Barterman (+4), Flail of Ages in De'Arnise Keep (+3), Crom Faeyr is later...).

Also, Melf's Minute Meteors is considered a +5 Blunt Weapon, as are Fire Seeds I think (+3 though if I remember correctly). Either of these spells should be able to hit EVERY enemy in the game, and are a necessity for the soloist.

P.S. WELCOME TO THE BOARD NOOBER!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I think the clay golems are the ones that need to be hit with a blunt weapon. Most of the time it is not to hard to take them down. Most of the harder golems can not even go through the door, which is a little unfair.
And welcome to the board.

the hammer +1/+4 vs giants also counts as a +4 weapon for hitting golems, or maybe they just count as giants...

Pffff...
Ok I started playing this game this week and I´m a newbie in the message board, I just used it because of these sucky golems
So what?
I prefer Ultima Online 20 times more than Baldur´s Gate man. So you continue with your More-than-well known RPG and I can continue with my 200-300 players multiplay
ok?

I rescind my welcome. How very rude of you to bash the game you came to ask about, then tell us that a buggy, boring, MACROed game like UO is better?

Now I wish I had not made the effort. Go back to UO and leave us BGers with our vastly superior and entertaining game. Thanks.

The "noober" was a joking reference to your being a new user on this board.

Please quit using the profanity, this board is frequented by children, and adults like myself who have learned to speak without using curse words in every other sentence.

BG2 is a long game, money won't be a concern later on. You can equip your whole party pretty well and still have the 15k you need to pay the Shadow Thieves.

What a jerk! Try growing up and while your at it seek help for that attitude problem of yours.

Do not take it out on everyone here because you do not understand how AD&D works. Learn or go away. These people on here are very nice and will help but save the crap. If you are what UO has to offer then I pity that game.

You have the mouth of 14 year old punk. I hope someone bans you.
