I was crusing along with my imported Wiz 7 party (sam, monk, ninja, lord, val, bishop), all at level 10 and just completed Upper trynton when I thought I would check out the retro cemetary dungeon. Little did I know that the teleporter out was blocked by a 6 tumbler locked door!!!! I have been relying on my ninja for locks/traps but he is only at 45 on the lockpick skill. None of my magic users know knock knock (figured I would find/buy that book somewhere and not have to waste a spell pick). Now I am stuck in this stupid dungeon! I think I will have to start over unless someone knows another way out.

Level up and choose knock knock, lots and lots of nice monsters to be killed in dungeon.

Gothmog - Thanks for the advice! I need about 60,000 exp to level up my bishop (also the closest one to leveling up). Do you think there is enough high exp monsters so it won't take too long?

~~tytonk~~

if you did the whole dungeon, you shoulda found at least one set of picklocks to use.

sirtech, like many rpg designers and dungeon masters, makes sure that you find things you need before you take off on an important encounter

believe me, i understand that you didn't want to spoil yourself regarding the visit there, but i think most of us have been thru this very same thing. so there are a number of posts on the site pointing to the size of the tumbler, the availability of picklocks, not to mention the importance of saving before you jump on the shroom patch to go down.

Vesselle

Thanks for the info! I will explore more of the dungeon and hopefully find what I need. I do save, but using only the quick saves. Saved three times after battles in the dungeon and screwed myself. I guess the lesson learned here is to save in a named spot once a session!

I got stuck there myself with my second party. My Bard was handling locks and hadn't given my Bishop knock-kcock and couldn't beleive it when I ran into that lock. Unfortunetly, my bishop was no where near leveling, so here's what I did:

!Practiced my lock pick skill!

Not the fastest way out, but it worked. I sat at that lock for about 2 days just go at it for 10-20min at a time in between HW and cleaning and raised my LP skill a good 20 points. If all else fails, you might try it.

I remember seeing the door, but I didn't have to use it to escape, I found my way to the ghost fight that has the transporter to take you out... that's as best as I could remember.

dont forget the bash option. My lord with around 85 strength got me out of that situation. He had a 4% bash chance, and enough stam for about 2 trys. he managed it after maybe 20 minutes total of waiting for stam to regen and trying again (worked up LP on my gadgeteer while I waited).
If you have a lizard fighter, it should be even easier.
