I'm just starting the game and I'm going down some hallway and I come upon about 7 seekers and they beat the crap out of me. They are too much for me right now. How do I retreat or lure them one by one away?

While in combat just click on the movement/run button (or hit shift-R) and when your turn comes up, just run away. Whether you will get away from them or not depends on where you get bushwhacked by them.
