Dismissed NPCs

What happens to NPCs when you dismiss them. Do they stay where they are, or do they go back to where you first found them?

I just dumped Myles for Madras, the gadgeteer. If I decide I want Myles back (unlikely) where will he be.

In the case of Myles, he returns to the fountain area in Arnika, where you first met him.

Vi goes back to He'li's place.

RFS-81 will stay wherever you drop him.

Those are the only ones I know for sure.

Most go back to the approximate location where you found them. On exception is NAS-81 who stays where you put him. Also, without one of the patches, Vi can end up in the middle of a statue and I have read someones post that they couldn't find Madras after they dismissed him.

I've never been able to find Vi once she's been dismissed. The same applies to the T'Rang samurai. Sparkles goes back to the Umpani headquarters, as I recall.

Could be Vi ended up in the statue when you dismissed her. I only take her long enough to complete the rescue quest, then drop her off right there in He'Li's bar.
