I just recently got my gadgeteer to level 14 and can all but swear he upgraded his Omnigun to Mk8 and got the arrow attachment.

Well, around about the same time I was doing quite a bit of saving and reloading around the Rapax Rift area and before starting up the next night I patched the game to the latest version. Well now my gadgeteer is still level 14 but only has the Omnigun mk7 and can't use arrows. Was I hallucinating? I don't think so as he had arrows in his ammo slot, he just couldn't use them. Normally when you put a non-usable ammo in the ammo slot it removes the weapon from your other hand so I shouldn't have been able to normally do that ...

Anyway, I'm just looking for confirmation that I should've gotten a mk8 at level 14 and that that should fire arrows. And perhaps a suggestion on how to fix this if anyone has a clue.

Thanks,
mier

I remember running into that myself. I remember seeing the arrow attachment but I could not use them. I believe that this is a bug that is fixed with one of the later patches. I remember that I was having trouble getting to ascension peak, so I downloaded the patch. The next time I looked at my omni gun (much later of course) it showed the arrow attachment and I was able to use them.

Good Luck,

Did you patch in between?

The original (v1.2.1) has some typos (really just typos) for some of the upgrades and one major mistake (the KO% is treated as a KIA% for one of the MKs).

IIRC, one of the typos is that the description indicates no arrows even though arrows are usable (or possibly vice-versa).

Let us know if you figure it out.

It definitely wouldn't take arrows where at one time it would. I had arrows equipped with the omnigun but my gadgeteer wouldn't shoot. When I removed them and tried to reequip them I discovered that they simply would not equip with the omnigun being held. (i.e. you'd put the arrows in the ammo slot and the omnigun would appear on your cursor)

So I used an editor and gave him the mk.8 he so rightly deserved ...

The Mark 8 Omnigun is the one that gets the arrow/quarrel attachment, but pre-patch there was a mistake in what level you get the Mark 8 upgrade. With the patch you get Mark 8 at level 16 not 14.at level 14 you only have the mark 7 basicly...the way the thing seems to work, you take the mark number and multiply it by 2 and thats the level you need to be to get it.

You know, I thought I was going NUTS there. I could have sworn that the same thing happened to me; in the last level-up I thought I read that I got the arrow attachment for the Omnigun. YES! I thought, finally! Then it just never even took arrows.

On an related note, I hadn't patched the game because it's working just fine (except for this minor glitch above). I'll be patching it tonight. Thank again everyone. This board is the greatest!
